Cool. I'm glad I used the word animal. I didn't want to be disingenuous [8|]

Steve Lentz -> RE: Vikes talk for Twins fans (10/17/2014 5:20:48 PM)

Harvin traded to the Jets for next to nothing. Has he worn out his welcome already or damaged goods?

Jeff Jesser -> RE: Vikes talk for Twins fans (10/17/2014 5:25:19 PM)

A little of A, a little of B.

djskillz -> RE: Vikes talk for Twins fans (10/17/2014 11:07:43 PM)

Spielman! Love it.

Mr. Ed -> RE: Vikes talk for Twins fans (10/18/2014 11:58:23 AM)

Schisms in the 'Hawks locker room, Harvin got into 2 fights.

Naw, can't be.

SoMnFan -> RE: Vikes talk for Twins fans (10/18/2014 12:40:19 PM)

See what teams do to cancers?

MDK -> RE: Vikes talk for Twins fans (10/18/2014 12:46:59 PM)

Now wait a minute,

I am sure that since Cordarrelle Patterson had such a terrible game last week and hasn't shown much since week 1......I am quite sure that the general sentiment on the Vikings thread was and is that

Percy Harvin >>>>> Cordarrelle Patterson

Maybe since the Seahawks dealt him, Harvin, for a bag of beans, maybe, just maybe that some people within the super bowl winning, loaded to the gills with talent organization, maybe somebody there knows more than a number of posters on the Vikings threads of talkvikes.

Naw......they know more.

MDK -> RE: Vikes talk for Twins fans (10/19/2014 3:10:17 PM)

Vikings.....nothing has changed.

another loss.

Defense plays great all day long except at the end.

I hate MN professional sports.

TJSweens -> RE: Vikes talk for Twins fans (10/19/2014 3:35:40 PM)

Greenway should be hauled out back and beaten for that 4th and 17. He had his back turned to the line of scrimmage when the ball was snapped, his man ran by him and caught the pass for a 1st down. That's just unforgivable, to have no clue that the ball was about to be snapped like that. Just terrible.

The O-Line. It just about says it all when 2 starters go out on the same play and the protection was not noticeably worse the rest of the game. I'll have to leaf through my thesaurus, because the word "suck" is just so inadequate no matter how how big of a font and how many exclamation points you use.

bstinger -> RE: Vikes talk for Twins fans (10/19/2014 10:26:05 PM)

I knew without a doubt, when we punted it away the last time, down 6 that we'd lose by 1. Told my daughter who was watching with me. Seen that script too many times in my life to believe otherwise.

I've decided that our Oline is like a Dyson Ball Vacuum. It really sucks, and does a great job maintaining that suckage.

I'm not going to hang this one entirely on the defense. Anytime a D gives up less than 20 points, especially in this day and age, they've given their team a great chance to win. The offense just can't get anything going consistantly.

Everybody could see it. up by six they'd find a way to give up the TD on the last play.

Seriously, Once you're at that point interfere if you have to. Pull a Serwanga and just tackle the guy befor the ball gets there. Don't let them get free or catch a ball. That simple.

But we shouldn't have been up by just six. The Dyson ball couldn't protect the QB, the QB holds the ball too long, There is little running game, and our recievers are starting to look like the pre Jennings/Patterson time, You know, Berrian Jenkins like?

SoMnFan -> RE: Vikes talk for Twins fans (10/21/2014 9:15:45 AM)

How bouts that Bills game?
Oh my.
That was some ugly disjointed faux football.
For three hours.
Yuck.
Just ... Yuck.
In all phases. Can't believe how we never change one thing .... Not understanding the importance of TDs to FGs.
Early, we settle for FGs
Late, when we need FGs to finish people off, we take chances, and end up punting instead.
50+ years of frustration has worn this old ass out. It's more funny now, than sad. Or disappointing. Just kinda patheticly funny.

Norv has a sieve of a line to deal with. ANd yet, He leaves the qb in there as a sitting duck.

The D has 2 really bad linebackers and one who can make plays and flies around, which also hurts at times.

But I'd rather have that than Brinkley and Greenway. Yuck.

Captain M is a FA bust. Over-rated(clap,clap,clap-clap-clap)

Yet despite all that the could have won.

I'm past frustration too. bleh. I'm resigned to second class status with this bunch. #1 fan base in the state for them(n terms of sheer numbes), yet they continue to eff it up.

Jim Frenette -> RE: Vikes talk for Twins fans (10/21/2014 10:06:04 AM)

Let's talk about that QB. I see a different game from him from Atlanta to now. We aren't seeing him run or even rollout to avoid the rush. I'm thinking he still has a bad ankle which might even affect his accuracy throwing. Whole game plan looks different

TJSweens -> RE: Vikes talk for Twins fans (10/21/2014 10:21:39 AM)

The problem is that he drops 2 steps and is boxed in. There is nowhere to go because his protection is collapsing on all sides. I am honestly starting to think Kalil and Loadholt have a bet to see who can get the kid killed first.

With those two protecting our QB, Teddy has to drop back out of the stadium to be protected.

If Greenway had any self-respect he would issue a public apology for his inattention on that 4th and 17 and donate his pay for the game to charity dealing with attention deficit.

Agreed. He has just been horrible. Even Robinson looks like a pro-bowler by comparison.

TJSweens -> RE: Vikes talk for Twins fans (10/21/2014 10:28:25 AM)

Matt Kalil: Don't worry Teddy, we got your back.
Teddy: Then how come I'm always on it?

I like the fact that he is confident enough to step up in the pocket. Unfortunately, the tackles are crashing through the guards and center so quickly he ends up walking into a wall.

SoMnFan -> RE: Vikes talk for Twins fans (10/21/2014 10:56:52 AM)

Teddys been getting pounded.
He's also had some plays he could have made that he hasn't.
No ones showing anything that promising right now.
No one.

That's fair; there definitely have been some rookie errors. Not all on the line, no doubt -- I just can't help but think that's where it all starts.

Other than giving up the ghost on the last drive the defense played well. Good enough to win. Anytime your D only gives up 17 points and gets four takeaways you've had a good day. Especially in this day and age.

The problem here is the offense with a rookie QB, sieve of an Oline, Raw or doggin it WRs, an offense built around having an all time great at RB and not having that Rb since week one. They've lost a starting G for the year. This game they lose his replacement for the game in the first half. They lost their starting C, the TE has been out since week 2, the guy slated for third string WR dumped because he can't keep his dumb ass out of trouble off the field. The veteran QB that was slated to start the year, gone since week 2. Rookie QB shows flashes of good, but looks like a rookie. fourth overall pick LT looking like a turnstyle.

Team is a mess because of injuries, suspensions etc.

But there is good if you look for it. Defense is starting to gel. Dline got after Orton pretty good. Linebackers were free to attack the ball. Robinson looks like a new man, Xavier Rhodes growing into a very good CB. Barr is a freak of nature.

Jerrick McKinnon is growing as well.

Now if we can just get some better Oline play...this team would probably be rocking.

I should say ... Barr.
Barr has impressed me.

McMurfy -> RE: Vikes talk for Twins fans (10/21/2014 11:21:43 AM)

At this point I'd like to see young guys play and the team lose.
