In the old regime, he'd be getting a callup. FTM lost 8-7 Maciel 4-5 w/2R 2RBI(2R HR, #3), also stole his 13th base, Cabbage 1-5/HR #6, Williams 1-4/Solo HR(#1 at FTM) Ober 6IP 4H/R/8K. Griffin Jax was promoted to the Rochester Red Wings and would be on normal rest on Wednesday. The Fort Myers Miracle activated pitcher Jordan Balazovic from the temporary inactive list after winning a silver medal at the Pan Am Games with Team Canada.

FTM is up 9-2 Miranda 4-4/6th HR, Bechtold 2-3/triple/SB That's game 2. Game 2 lost 5-3. Flamethrower Dakota Chalmers allowed 1 hit 3R/in 4IP. 6 walks, 6 strikeouts. Pensacola down 4-1. Blankenhorn, now in the 3 spot,w/his 17th HR at AA. No mas Duran 4IP 6H/4R/4K GCL Twins won 2, both on 5-4 scores. Cavaco got his first pro HR in one of the games, a 3 run shot. Roch up 1-0 in the 7th. Wiel's 20th dinger the only run. Thorpe went 6 1H/7K. no idea why he couldn't replace Perez in the lineup. Romero in. Walked 1, but got a lineout doubleplay. Eliz is up 5-2. Considering Stewart has even pitched in the bigs the Twins did WELL compared to other teams. Berrios was the 32nd pick.Buxton was picked 2nd that year. Good draft. THAT was an epic failure, Mason Melotakis Tyler Duffey Luke Bard(now w/Angels) JT Chargois Zack Jones All 2012 in the top 10 in 2013 in the top 10 Ryan Eades #2- still in AAA, 1 cup of coffee in 2019 Gonsalves Aaron Slegers Brian Gilbert CK Irby Garver was a 9th round pick that year. Just those 2 years, you see how poorly they DEVELOPED players and they're not alone, which is why most teams outside the Dodgers and Astros are constantly shuffling pitching. The management changed, the philosophy changed. W/O trading for help, developing it like this is like watching a snail in a 100 meter race: Slow and painful. And yep, we're seeing the results. A bunch of nobodies and has-beens paraded through MN year after year.

A bunch of nobodies and has-beens paraded through MN year after year. Nope, about two months ago I posted all of the pitchers the Twins have drafted over the last 15 seasons or so. It is truly amazing how few ever evolved into anything as far as a ML career. You picked a couple years where the Twins did not fare quite as badly. But there have been many seasons where the draft was a complete bust with respect to pitchers. And it is not particularly encouraging right now despite Failvine presumably "loading" our farm system with prospects. What is truly amazing is the number of pitchers the Twins parade through every season with the ultimate DFA tag. This year, the DFA was used at a premium. What seems to be the most troubling occurrence is the Twins prospects topping out at the AAA or mythical AAAA level. Players that go up and down between the Twins and Rochester, that look like a can't miss thing on the mound until they enter a game in a Twins uniform. Some of this HAS to be on poor coaching, there can be no other logical explanation.

Eliz won 4-2 Marin gave up 1 UER in 6IP struck out 11, with no walks. Had been shaky at best with a high era, but decent K/IP numbers to this point. No walks tonight, so his numbers in that area aren't all bad: 39IP 18BB/60K

I just checked up on the prospect I love to hate, Charlie Barnes. What a bazaar season. A 6.51 ERA in 8 starts at A+, for some reason, earned him a promotion to AA. He then had a 2.96 ERA in a dozen starts for the Blue Wahoos. On to AAA. Got 6 kinds of dog manure kicked out him in his debut with the Red Wings. Maybe AA hitters are his sweet spot.

The past regime did way too much coddling. When you see the way Cleveland ALWAYS seems to produce pitching, it's not hard to understand why Falvey wants to emulate what they do to such a high degree.
