Our fastest prospect:

Twins: Aaron Whitefield, OF

Since signing out of Australia for $70,000 in May 2015, Whitefield has run his way up the organizational ladder, making his big league debut in 2020, when he, not surprisingly, made two pinch-running appearances. He’s swiped 30 or more bases three times, including in just 51 Rookie-level Gulf Coast League games back in 2017. While the jury is out whether he’ll hit enough to use that speed regularly in the big leagues (career .637 OPS), he understands how to steal a base, with 115 steals and a 77.7 percent success rate.

You have to hand it to the Twins Australian Scout.

He’s lived in Paradise for 20 years
Lots of Chicks there.
Signs guys.
Highly touts them
and they all suck.
But he cashes checks from his Porsche in the Bank Drive through lane and keeps his job.

But, but, but what about Liam Hendricks?

Doesn't change how spot on your assessment is. I just wanted to beat Matt to it.

I was gonna go with Thorpedo.

Why, because he actually hit the weight room a couple of times in the offseason?

McMurfy -> RE: Players and prospects III (3/1/2021 10:52:27 AM)

Thorpedo is the Poor Man’s guy from Omaha that Steve used to love.

Thorpedo was a Pre Phelps Olympic Swimmer from Australia

That nickname was already taken.

Ian Thorpe. Look it up. Sydney games specifically.

If Aaron Rodgers can use A-Rod, I'd say Lewis Thorpe is OK with Thorpedo.

Place holders. I have a feeling organizations will release a lot more players after the draft than they have in the past. Draft picks will be going directly to low and high A instead of the defunct rookie league. More guys will get kicked up the ladder to accommodate them. This means guys like Uncle Albers will be out of jobs.

Which is really bad for the economy. Biden needs to do something to fix this.

Mr. Ed -> RE: Players and prospects III (5/5/2021 12:54:35 PM)

Saints up 4-2 in the bottom of the second

Barnes gave up 3 hits/2 in the first

Saints six singles thus far. Maggi/Lin/Refsnyder/Jeffers with RBI's

Mr. Ed -> RE: Players and prospects III (5/5/2021 2:03:01 PM)

Larnach 3 run HR Rooker/Refsnyder solo HR

10-3 lead in the sixth

Barnes did the control left-hander thing

5IP 7H/3R/2K

TJSweens -> RE: Players and prospects III (5/5/2021 2:13:02 PM)

I hope Larnach can slug his way up here.

I really liked Larnach in ST before last season. Great approach. Knew the zone. Never swung at anything out of the zone. Never saw him flinch on a pitch unless he was swinging. He hit one of his homeruns clear out of the ballpark.

And I'm not just talking about the players. I'm talking about the managers, coaches, vendors, ticket reps, trainers, etc. Just awful.

Saints w 10-4

Ferrell struggled, couldn't finish an inning, gave up the 4th run

Minaya IP BB/2K

probably puts him at the front of the tryout line when more deck chairs are shuffled

Gibaut probably behind him IP H/BB/3K

Anderson lost ground IP BB
