Let’s take a look at the Twins vaunted minor league system, using MLB.com’s top 30 prospect list. Two spots opened up on the list when Ryan era pick Alex Kirilloff and Falvine pick Trevor Larnach were promoted long term.

1. Royce Lewis RHB SS, 22 (Falvine era pick): On the shelf with a torn ACL until next year. Career numbers .266/ .331/ .409/ .740. Murf and I wanted Hunter Greene. Still wish we had taken him.

2. Jordan Balazovic RHP, 22 (Ryan era pick): He is our #1 prospect as far I am concerned. He has dominant ass stuff and has dominated every level through AA. Hope he at least gets a September call up.

3. Johan Duran RHP, 23 (Falvine trade): Biggest heat in the system and a starter at AAA. Unfortunately, out with elbow strain that currently does not require surgery. Prognosis, lower arm amputated sometime in 2022.

4. Aaron Sabato Gigante RHB 1B, 22 (Falvine pick): Seriously? A DH batting .189 and slugging .297 at low A is our #4 prospect? Plus he is the worst fielding DH in the minors. Great pick Wonder Twins.

5. Matt Canterino RHP, 23 (Falvine): A Falvine success…briefly anyway…Built his fastball velo into the mid 90’s. Was smoking em in high A, ERA 1.00 and 35K’s in just 18 innings. Joined Duran with elbow strain. Will likely join Duran as an amputee.

So our top 5 consists of a SS who is currently carrying his knee around in a shopping bag, two pitchers on the inevitable track to UCL surgery, one elite pitching prospect and the reincarnation of Lumpy LeCroy. Note that the only one worth getting excited about right now was drafted while Ryan was running the show.

6. Celestino RHB CF, 22 (Falvine): With Twins. Has the goods defensively. Bat is nowhere near major league ready.

7. Cavaco RHB SS, 20 (Falvine): Improved from rookie league. Long way to go.

8. Urbina RHB OF, 19 (Falvine): Great defense, no bat to this point.

9. Enlow RHP, 22 (Falvine): Really solidified his status as a starting prospect before having TJ surgery.

10. Rooker RHB OF, 26 (Falvine): Getting pretty damn old for a prospect. Low average, lotta power, lotta strikeouts…sound familiar?

We are now through the top 10 and Balazovic is still the only thing to get excited about.

11. Matt Wallner RHB OF, 23 (Falvine): Was pounding the holy snot out of the ball with Cedar Rapids until he injured his wrist. Should be more around the #5/6 range for prospects.

12. Josh Winder RHP 24, (Falvine): Could be up this year. Like Balazovic and Canterino, managed to increase his velo into the 95-98 range.

13. ….Ah, who cares? Won’t see anybody in this range for awhile.

I think walking is the only thing Sabato Gigante is doing well. I think his OBP is actually higher than his average + his slugging.

He should really be promoted to the Saints. Get him some AAA starts before a call up. Knowing the Twins, they will shut him down for reaching some IP plateau before they will call him up.
