Everything will work out hunky-dory.

Channeling our inner Dustin today?

Trying out a new outlook.

I'm smart enough, good enough, and gosh darn it, people like me!

wethrock -> RE: Players and prospects III (8/14/2014 12:00:39 PM)

Kvasnicka and Buxton played side-by-side during most of 2nd half of 2013 at FtMyers, so they must know each other's tendencies.
I can assure you that crowd noise was not a communications factor - NB fans are quiet (and there are always a lot less of them than what's published in the box score). The sun had set a good 30 minutes prior to the play; the lighting at NB Stadium looks to be good enough; I don't think I've ever seen a misplay there that I could blame on poor lighting. It's at least as good as other AA stadiums I've been at.

Mr. Ed -> RE: Players and prospects III (8/15/2014 8:50:51 AM)

Goodrum was 1-5/FTM with a run scored, stole 2 bags. 30 steals on the year.

Burdi's first appearance after signing 4 walks 4 runs

Mr. Ed -> RE: Players and prospects III (8/15/2014 9:18:09 AM)

Kepler with 6 triples. guy has speed.
Stay healthy.

He and Harrison are 21, and holding their own in HI-A ball, and should play in AA next year.

Goodrum is 22. This is the depth they've beenlacking.

Still really lacking depth overall, but the promotions have occurred much more this year than in the past.

Mr. Ed -> RE: Players and prospects III (8/15/2014 9:20:53 AM)

Walker also won't turn 23 until the season is over.
Still only hitting .243 and has 140 k's, a ton.

The power, 24 HRs in that league, is sure tantalizing.

Mr. Ed -> RE: Players and prospects III (8/15/2014 9:48:17 AM)

No knock on the guys, but.......................

If you ever want to know about the "depth" in the Twins system, take a look at AA

For the excitement of young guys like Buxton/Sano/Polanco/Berrios
There are

Mike Gonzales : 26
Nate Hanson: 27
Jim Fuller: 27
Kyle Knudson: 26
Reynaldo Rodriguez: 28
Tony Thomas: 28
Daniel Turpen:27
Corey Wimberly: 30

Several of these guys are here for a 2nd/3rd YEAR.

All some are doing is blocking someone. A couple of these guys are in their first year n AA, and Gonzales was a mid-season callup.

Mr. Ed -> RE: Players and prospects III (8/15/2014 10:07:43 AM)

Lester Oliveros, who is now 26, and apparently recovered from TJ surgery, is a likely 40-man add in Sept.

15 hits in 24.1 AAA IP, 38 strikeouts.Just 10 walks

Meter 3 2/3 innings and 84 pitches? Not even close to being ready even as Sept call up

I blame Pinto for this outing, 7 strikeouts, but probably would have been able to go 5 or 6 with the right framing.
