My birthday is "National Marijuana Day" which is also (incidentally) Adolph Hitler's birthday.

Just saw this picture of Miguel Sano and Rocco Baldelli taken in the Dominican Republic. It looks like Sano really has melted some butter off of him.

I don't think that is Miguel Sano except maybe the face only. Sano should be at least four inches taller than Baldelli and no way is his body that much smaller.

How tall do you think Sano is? Baldelli is 6'4"

I thought Baldelli was around 6 feet. I still say that picture is a fake.

I needed to look up Baldelli on baseball-reference and he is indeed 6' 4'
The picture was shocking to me as well. Baldelli looks as big as Sano

It isn't necessarily a good thing with Sano losing the weight if he isn't doing the strength work. I have seen guys (my friend John for example) who lost a bunch of weight but also lost strength because he didn't workout. He ended up gaining the weight back and again lost the weight, but the second time around he strength trained all the way through.
If Sano is popping his Richard Simmons "Sweating to the Oldies" into the VCR he's going to be plenty weaker. I sure hope he's keeping up the weight training otherwise the loss of weight isn't necessarily a good deal.

The word on his work outs when he was sent down to Fort Myers last year was that the focus was on getting him stronger particularly in the legs. Falvey said the biggest issue was that he was not strong enough at his weight. If he is continuing to lift weights and do strength training while shedding pounds then it is a very good thing. He should be stronger and more explosive at the lighter weight.

Good Point.

And if he does that leg push and load like John does as well with his swing,
He’ll have a breakout year.
John’s exit velocity has steadily improved as of late.

When you said pushing loads I thought you were talk about you and the exploits with your male friend.

I thought his name was Scott.

Never mind. Have fun

The Cedar Rapids Kernels, in conjunction with the Minnesota Twins, announce that Brian Dinkelman, Ryan Smith, Virgil Vasquez, and Luis Rodriguez will be the Kernels Field Staff for the 2019 season.

Thank God we have L-Rod in the organization.

I hope he is the batting coach. Get those guys turning on that inside pitch right away in low A.

Ryan Smith is actually the hitting coach.

L-Rod is the infield coach. But you can bet he'll be helping with the hitting instruction too. Will be interesting to see if he can teach quick hands.

How long until the calls for Joe Mauer as Manager start?

2 years?
5 years?

Yesterday?

The Day Mauer manages the Twins is the Day I go buy SF Giants gear.
