Pitchers and catchers report in two weeks. Odds, the Twins make an acquisition before that date? 1-50 at best.

Chase De Jong cleared waivers and will be assigned to AAA. He will attend big league camp as a non-roster player.

It is rather pathetic that this is the most current and hot topic for the Twins roster situation.

They have signed FA after the reporting date....how about you give us odds until the end of ST Mark?

The guys they signed after the start of ST, didn't work out very well. In fact that was the trend across the league for late signing FA. I doubt Pinky and the Brain will go that route again.

Yeah, players holding out for $8 million-+++ contracts do NOTHING during the off-season to stay in shape. They allow themselves to gain weight, become flabby, lose muscle tone, and lose strength. And the irony is that team's who are desperate enough will pay them.

Kind of like how people get super excited about the "3rd wave of free agency" after the draft in the NFL - and nothing ever happens.

Finally pitchers and catchers report in a week or so.
Whew ... we need a break from all the crazy, big-name, free-spending activity this past offseason!

Nelson Cruz has hit more HR than any player over the last 5 years.

If he struggles here, will he blame...

A)The living batters eye?
B)The wet concrete?
C)Joe Mauer?
D)The wonderful food options?
E)Mosquitoes?

The mosquitoes where Cruz comes from kick the crap out of Minnesota mosquitoes. In the Dominican, they don't hear an annoying buzz. They hear footsteps when a mosquito approaches.

He's actually been playing for the Wild now.
He changed his name to Ryan Parise. or is it Zach Suter.
Either way, he's awesome ..........

This could help the Twins.

Francisco Lindor has sustained a right calf strain while preparing for ST. He has started rehab & is expected to return to Major League game activity in 7-to-9 weeks.

"It's a shock" the Twins didn't make any big offseason deals.

Man, they sure haven't been paying attention.

Do they mean trades?

Signing Cruz and Schoop are big deals.

Signings are ok. No trades or ANYTHING to really help a terrible pitching staff, other than a new pitching coach for the 3rd straight year.
