You do realize that Locke got pretty big money from Indy....I don't think we wanted him gone. Walsh has way more talent than Kai but is a headcase.....I don't know how you can blame him for that.

I don't care about the contracts or who is punting or kicking. Focus more on what happens to players' performance before, during, and after their time under Priefer.

Look at Fair Catches, In20, and return yards and tell me again Quigley isn't doing a good job for a rookie.

Quigley isn't a rookie - he's in his fifth season as a pro.

Didn't realize that...my bad....must have been thinking of the rookie punter we cut. Still he is doing good in those categories though (In20, Return Yards, and FC).

2nd last in avg which means he's doing a lot of what David's been highlighting. Punting on a short field and getting a short fair catch. Heck, field position probably matters little. We sacrifice field position with short punts even though we have good coverage units because Priefer coaches conservative.

Is that Zimmer's call or Priefers call? I'll take 4-2, punts inside the 20, Fair Catches, and minimal return yardage all year long guys.

What do you expect out of Quigley should be my question and what are you expecting out of Priefer? If you just want him fired because you don't like him that is one thing but which game has he cost us this year?

Which games did he cost us last year that was a part of the Blair Walsh meltdown project?

I expect that at least one - ONE FREAKING GUY - to not get worse under Priefer or not immediately improve once free of him. In other words - I expect the bare ass minimum. What do you expect? That he physically stands there on the sideline?

I look at the KR teams, PR teams, FG, etc. We have been very solid. You are looking for excuses to get rid of the guy and I am sorry to say---they aren't there right now David.

So is a punter with a 42 yard net more effective than a punter with a 40 yard net? At punting.

I don't think David F would be highlighting that, because it is not factored into net punting average, and would potentially explain away the distinctions he is trying to promote. He's hardly alone in that category, most of us are there to some extent

Have they been giving up PR TD, KR TD, ST plays that are hurting the team game in and game out?

I see a coach who would rather punt when inside the opponents 50 then go for it 4th & short because our defense has been very good on long fields....is that on Priefer?

Which of the 2 games we lost did the ST cost us the game? Usually a ST coach isn't going to lose their job unless they cost us the game....I think the Punter play against Pitt was bad but outside of that play I haven't seen anything that is going to cost Priefer his job.

I've got an entire thread full of why I believe Priefer is a terrible coach. It's all right here. Rather than me repeat what's already right here why don't you just simply post the his positives. Tell us what you like about him. Common answers in the past have been the two fake punts we executed in past seasons. Others have been that we don't have to worry about returns for TDs. Let's hear it.

Do you know what the HC okays him to do? IMO Zimmer wants him to play straight up special teams.

You don't need to take chances if you can beat a team straight up---pretty much been Zimmer's philosophy all along outside of PR and KR big plays......needed ST help against Detroit and Pittsburgh.

Players. Do. Shitty. Under. Prieffer. And. Get. Better. When. Away. From. Him.

In regards to the field position - I get it - and I even support it. However - punting 30 yards from our own 48 to be fair caught at the 18 is stupid stupid football. We'd be better off throwing a mini-hail mary pass or trying to coffin corner it every time. Can we punt it - say - 40 yards from our own 48 to be fair caught at the 8? No. No we can't. Or at least we don't. Why? You got me there. I have no idea.

I’m guessing a “special” teams coach, who should have his own “special headgear” made a “special” instruction not to kick to the coffin corner, because that would require “advanced” as opposed to “special” coaching....

I don't really give a shit about Preiffer ... not to the extent that you do ... but I'm not seeing many punters doing what you expect from ours. It's not a chip shot punting out of bounds inside the 10 ... from anywhere.

And Kluwe did not do better away from Preiffer.
Neither is Patterson.
Pretty much the same players they were here.

Nah, we're not in an unhealthy co-dependent relationship with the Mike Priefer. It's a good thing, he'd send us to a desert isle and nuke it.

You don't see other punters getting fair catches at the 8? Staying out of the bottom 1/3 of the league?

I can tell you why: if we punt 40 yards from our own 48, it would be fair-caught at the 12. Booyah, solved.

Our punter averages 41.8 gross and 40.5 net.
Average return = 1.3 yards.

The league average net is 42.3

I'm much more concerned with our red zone offense.

Got to ask David F that.
I'm OK with how our ST's are playing except for not taking a knee when the kickoff is 5-10 yards deep in the end zone.

I wouldn't give ANY qb $30-50+ mil unless that QB had won me a Super Bowl. Did you win a Super Bowl on your rookie deal? Yes? Great! Here's your hugenormous contract. F it let's just run victory laps and love life. No? Good luck. Next!
