In my world
Egghead: A type of lead sinker, when coupled with 2lb fluorocarbon leader and bait, will allow you to catch more trout than anyone else on the lake.
Sounds like you catch trout using live bait....isn't that a no no for trout fishing? If you were fly fishing, don't you want the line and fly to stay on the water? If you use an egghead, you are sinking the line aren't you?
This is what is used for kids, mine and my friend’s kids who ask me to take them fishing.
Usually use either power bait or a worm with it.
I am a snob fly fisherman who turns his nose up at bait fisherman.
As for sinking, trout eat sub surface 90% of the time, so you usually have a wet fly or sinking fly line, but
catching them on a dry fly on the surface is the preferred method if the fish are willing.
I just want more time to fish. Just got back from the lake........took out the dock, built steps for the porch, mowed lawn, grilled twice. No time for fishing.
Maybe in a few years when I retire.
I do like Berkley Power bait. Berkley Bedell was a US congressman from Iowa. Had a fishing tackle business out of Storm Lake Iowa. Democrat and very reasonable. Unlike the nutcase from the 4th district known as Steve King.
And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.
