Twins pitchers doing a great job of pitch to impact. Didn't Gibson have a similar game the other night where he only had four swings and misses or was that somebody else?

I think that was Odor

The crappy outings just meld one into the next

Ervin touched 90 mph 7 times out of 94 pitches. Max velo was 90.6.

Pitched at 87-89 mph.

Twins had scored only 29 runs in the month of August in eight games prior to this evening. Only two runs scored tonight through eight innings. 31 runs in nine games will not get you many victories. This team is terrible!

Per the radio, Detroit will be a game under .500 in the division.

Twins will be 16-15 against the Tigs/Sox/Royals

and those 3 are about 100 under .500 for the year.

probably is putting together better at bat than most could.

Adrianza 2 out double

5-3

3rd hit/game

the sluggers (Kepler/Morrison) should be embarrassed by this guy showing them how to hit.

Mauer now under .200 for the month

Only being under performed by LoMo and Kepler

Another notch on this year's terrible game/losses ledger.

Twins have confirmed the Stewart promotion. No word yet on who goes back to the minors.

Or gets cut.

He cannot be relied upon to be the everyday first baseman or an everyday ANYTHING at this point. The concussion history and his age alone makes it utterly ridiculous to invest anything more than a few million for one year and I don't even like that!

He comes back automatically for marketing and fan attendance. No-brainer for the Twins FO. They know they will probably be the worst team in the league next year and nearly as bad in 2020. Might as well have Joe around. Joe doesn't mind losing one bit.

I'm sure you've seen the stooooopid marketing commercial where the Minnie and Paul signs in CF have a discussion about where he's from.... They are laying the groundwork for why we should care next year and however long it takes to become relevant again. We'll be watching and "honoring" then end of the hometown boy's career.

Berardino's twitter feed has this

VIDEO: RHP Ervin Santana reacts to front office decision to trade Fernando Rodney: “Everybody’s like, ‘They gave up.’ We’re not giving up, but they did. They took our pieces away, and it’s difficult to play without our good pieces.”

Yes, the Twins are recycling the Joe Mauer home town boy plot.
