Butler is a child and he has a horrible agent that couldn't be doing a worse job for his client.

I made the mistake of glancing at the RealGM boards. At least half the posters (including our own village idiot) think its great what Jimmy did and that somehow its going to fix things and make the team (with Jimmy) better.

That's the problem with more public/open forums. They're so full of Dude-Bros, teenagers and trolls from other teams that there is almost no signal among the noise.

Also BS to Jimmy saying it was all just emotions coming out. We know he planned to do exactly what he did. He told Thibs he was going to do it.

That's not being emotional, its being a psychopath.

Sounds like someone needs to flat out deck Butler. Blacken both eyes

As crazy as Butler's practice appearance was, I think this will make Thibs even less likely to trade him. Think about Thibs' mindset. He still thinks this can be patched up. To him, Butler being back on court would be a first step in that direction, even though it was rocky.

That's why (so it was reported anyway) Thibs never said a word at practice. He was just happy to have Jimmy there and didn't want to disturb him.

The great non-communicator.

The fact that this whole Jimmy Butler thing was staged for the report and sit-down, honestly, makes it even better to me. I’m not even mad at it. This is great theater.

As much as this sucks, just as a fan, wonder how the players feel, especially the young guys?
Rookies thrust into this absolute nightmare of a situation.

Taylor needs to fire Thibodeau immediately. Get this shit over with, and let the remaining players do their jobs, learn, practice and play without all of this drama, ineptitude and power struggle drama.

I have ZERO doubt Thibs thought this would help "toughen up" KAT/Wiggs and was secretly happy about Butler going off on them. I also heard that Wiggs was pretty engaged in practice, so perhaps Thibs still thinks it worked.

DL if I'm the village idiot at the REAL GM boards I think Butler is behaving like a baby and attempting to not honor his contract and I no longer respect him in any way. I believe you have me on iggy so if anybody replies to this then you will see it. The posting there was going on in real time so I made some comments before I had all the facts. Now that I do I don't know where to go with this. I certainly don't think these antics today should compel us to accept a lesser offer, but I would understand if the teams no longer want him under any circumstances. If they want him pay up. If they don't move on. Jimmy is hurting himself with these antics I hope. If this kind of behavior doesn't turn other teams off on him something is very wrong.

Butler showed up to practice late and just subbed himself into the scrimmage on the third team to go against the starting group, league sources said. Throughout the practice, Butler verbally bashed Karl-Anthony Towns, Andrew Wiggins, president of basketball operations/coach Tom Thibodeau and general manager Scott Layden, league sources said. Screaming from the top of his lungs, Butler uttered taunts at his teammates such as “They ain’t [expletive]!” and “They soft!”, league sources said. Most of the players knew the invectives were directed at Towns and Wiggins, league sources said.

It was an orchestrated and choreographed temper tantrum. He has no honor.

Glen has lost complete control of the entire organization.

He needs to drop the usual passive and just get aggressive. In a hurry.

It may have been his idea.

I would be shocked to learn that any of the players have any respect for Thibodeau.

Yes. Make a lowball offer to Thibodeau to buy him out. If he refuses, fire him, don't pay him. Surely a good lawyer can make a case that Thibodeau breached his contract?

Is anyone else enjoying the hell out of this?

At some point you just have to give up on the Wolves being a 'normal' organization and just go with the spectacle. This is better that any so-called 'reality' TV series could ever be.

I'm experiencing a bit of schadenfreude, yes.

The list of dysfunction that DL posted is at most 20% of the crazy shit that has gone down in that organization. That said, I heard something today from a 100% reliable, primary source that is the craziest, most metadysfunctional thing yet. Sworn to secrecy, sorry, but trust that any level of fukkery that you can conceive of re: the Timberwolves is an anthill next to the Matterhorn of mayhem that actually exists. How that mofo made his billions is just beyond fathoming.

It may also have its genesis in another organization, maybe in league with an agent......

That's exactly what I was thinking too. A case could be made for insubordination. If not, tie him up in court for years.
