Hunter is MVP imo. 5-6 pressures? 2 sacks? Stud against the run.

Very happy the Vikes beat a team that had a better QB. Thankfully the Vikes have a better defense, better WRs than the 49ers, and the game was at home.

If the QBs were switched, I think Jimmy might have led the Vikes to a 3 TD victory. If this game had been played at SF, the Vikings may have lost. The crowd noise helps.

The Vikes were also screwed on calls and non calls to the tune of 10 or more calls. Had the refs been neutral, the Vikes probably have won by 4 TDs.

Come on Marty! Cousins was way more accurate today. What are you seriously watching?

I think Marty is just trying to get a reaction. He was off on many passes today. The quality of his WRs had nothing to do with it. Seriously, when his takeaway from a 15/33 1 td and 3 int performance is "what great accuracy". You know he is trying to provoke a reaction out of you.

Now back to work on the OL.

Actually I was more mad at SF players running free in our secondary. What the heck was that?

Elflein should definitely help the OLine.

Was a lot of confusion back there. Hopefully can be fixed with more experience back there and Alexander back in the mix.
Shanahan is a heck of an offensive offensive mind as well.

And in the end we had 4 TOs and held them to 16 so that is good.

Richardson, Hunter, Rhodes solid today.

Waynes, Gedeon(just teach Wilson his position already) and suprisingly Kendricks struggled at times in coverage.

Waynes left in the first half with injury. Had a nice break up in the endzone. Only allowed 2 short passes that I can remember.

Gedeon should not be on the field.

Gotta remember Shanahan really is one of the best offensive minds in the NFL.

Good points.

I was also impressed by 49er play calls, but also liked the agressiveness of the Vikings, LOVED the blitz on 1st down the last drive.

DeFlippio called a great game for 3 quarters, I am not sure if the ineptitude was the players, or mistakes he was making in the 4th quarter.

I wanted to see Zimmer have the balls to go for it on the 4th and a half a yard.

Jimmy G is very good, slightly better than Cousins, a quicker release and more accurate thrower. Cousins might be better after a play breaks down, but the throw Jimmy G made where he was getting big time pressure and completed to the back of the end zone for TD, was an incredible throw.

But I don't care if he might be better than Cousins, the Vikings dodged a bullet, have a better team than SF, and are off to hopefully beat GB next week.

15/33 with 3 INTs...

I am not trying to get a reaction.

I thinking Jimmy G is very accurate, but he just went against the best defense he'll face all year, and on the road, and where his team fell behind early.

I may be over-rating Jimmy G, we'll just have to see.

IF the Vikes get early leads at home this year, and the refs are nuetral, we might see the Vikes win by 6 or 7 TDs in some games.

I was still impressed with Cousins. He had a quicker release, and stronger arm than Keenum.

I just want to see Cousins perform better in the 4th quarter, make plays in the 4th quarter.

I also think the 49ers got away with quite a bit of contact with their 2ndary. And I wonder if a Viking's OL actually moved on a play near the goal line, where they were flagged, when I think it was just the 49ers jumping offsides.

I wonder if on the 4th and inches, the refs didn't really want to flag the 49ers for offsides, but they had shafted the Vikings all day, and it would have been too obvious if they would have not thrown a flag, or flagged the Vikes OL for moving.

Happy for the win. Felt like more of a grind than it should have been, but it was he first game of the season. Definitely need Elf back quick as the oline looked very suspect against an underwhelming SF defense. Fortunately, Cousins showed better escapability than I would have thought. Gonna have to be a lot better upfront when we face a good dline.

he ended up with only one sack, but i think he lost two others to penalties by other players....

smith had an interception, fumble recovery and a sack...and seven tackles - he did look beat on a couple of passes though....

hunter was playing like a $15m defensive end...richardson looked very active - they gave him half a sack on that play where griffen cleaned it up - too bad about the roughing penalty, or was it unnecessary roughness?....

Smith with the INT and he silences his detractors on this forum.

Ugh.

He literally just made the type of play that the “detractors” were saying he excels at...

And saying he’s a great safety, but not strong in man coverage isn’t really being a detractor...

Not everything is a static column of numbers...not everyone can hold two thoughts at the same time.....

I’m pretty sure the last time he enjoyed a sporting event was in 1991...

I love how Bohumm uses the passive aggressive to call you stupid and no one but me calls him on it...

Was really going for straight aggressive here, but not calling him stupid. People with a shtick often choose to close down dynamic thinking, and such seems to be t he case here. CPAs aren't dumb, but chronic bitchers often pretend there are no lines of reasoning other than the one they occupy, like climate change deniers who use blizzards as proof that global warming is a hoax.

Cant say I feel bad if they lose. They deserve to lose playing like this.

Nothing ever changes with this team. You can change the roster, but the results are the same.

You're right. Nothing changes. Vikings win again.

Still not sure why the helmet to helmet against Rhodes on the INT wasn't called?

Not only invisible but looked terrible at least on a couple plays where he was actually around the ball....

Not worth anything more than 10.5M/yr

Good win though in traditional Viking fashion. Getting this O rolling is a work in progress, and hopefully the D can shoulder the load until they can pull their weight. Just saw Peterson score a TD.

Guys, w/ our O-line banged up, I thought we played pretty well. Hopefully Cousins' field vision (height) and quick release will get him out of trouble through making quick reads instead of having to scramble to make plays like Keenum. That is huge. Our D showed up strong against a good QB. That was a quality win!
