Actually I was more mad at SF players running free in our secondary. What the heck was that?

Elflein should definitely help the OLine.

Waynes went out first half. Hughes probably had a rough game. Hill was in at times.

Hughes showed a lot of talent, but was up and down. Good first game for a rookie, though.

The pick 6 was a result of the DL pressure IMO

Hunter is MVP imo. 5-6 pressures? 2 sacks? Stud against the run.

he ended up with only one sack, but i think he lost two others to penalties by other players....

Liked both him and Richardson on the defensive line today.

hunter was playing like a $15m defensive end...richardson looked very active - they gave him half a sack on that play where griffen cleaned it up - too bad about the roughing penalty, or was it unnecessary roughness?....

He was down before Griff touched him, imo

edit: actually i thought the replay was pretty clear about it. (not a conventional sack for sure)

Still not sure why the helmet to helmet against Rhodes on the INT wasn't called?

I was curious about that too. I wonder if it's the kind of thing where the guy will get fined after the fact and have mark against him going forward? Wasn't there something in the rule about players who continue to use the helmet will get suspended after so many infractions?

The ref just missed it. Plain and simple. Easy 25 yard penalty and could have been considered targeting.

He'll be light in the wallet for sure.

Saints got destroyed.

But...But they're so good...literally unbeatable...

It's a long season. 1st game against divisional opponent. Not going to read to much into it.

Home loss to 2017 last place division opponent. Means something

As the ref should be also.

Elflein should definitely help the OLine.

Was a lot of confusion back there. Hopefully can be fixed with more experience back there and Alexander back in the mix.
Shanahan is a heck of an offensive offensive mind as well.

And in the end we had 4 TOs and held them to 16 so that is good.

Richardson, Hunter, Rhodes solid today.

Waynes, Gedeon(just teach Wilson his position already) and suprisingly Kendricks struggled at times in coverage.

Missed that.

How is Dallas and Carolina the game of the week?

I'll be surprised if I don't get GB/Chi here.

- I'm very curious how Cam and Turner work out this season ...

Pretty sure it's nationally televised.

Vikings get a dumb penalty by San Fran. What terrible coaching by Zimmer.

So the smart coaching move would’ve been to punt it away?

Hahahahaha

No, if he is going to for it on 4th down, then run the play. If they cannot make a half yard when they need to, this team is going no where.

You do get that he wasn’t going for it on 4th down, right?

Yes, if you line up, go for the first down. The penalty thingy is cheesy football and the Vikings got lucky.

That's very manly.

Put this one down in the UGLY win column. Hard to play much worse on offense and defeat a good team.

Weird how some are happy just getting a win.

Don't worry man, we'll probably lose a couple this season.

Sure, It means something. But when the division was on the line, the Saints also couldn't beat the bucks in the last game of the regular season last year. It seems no matter how bad, the teams are, they always play each other tough with some upsets within the division.

The ref may have missed that helmet to helmet, along with contact from 49er 2ndary defenders, as they were told to make sure SF is within a score or ahead at the end.

Were the 49ers doing some sort of deep drop by the QB, then hitting the TE coming across the field, behind the line of scrimmage ?

Whatever they were doing, I hope the Vikings add some of that to their repertoire.

Now to go start at the beginning and read the rollercoaster of fanatics twisting in the wind as the game I missed until the the last few minutes of the third quarter unfolded...

I personally only saw one great play by cousins... the draw offsides on fourth down in the waning minutes... didn’t see one point scored by the offense...

Just glad I got to see A Win.... 16 weeks from now I won’t give a crap about this game....

Pretty sure you are going to see the same clown/clowns that typically come in to root against the Vikes.

I could never understand how bored you have to be in life to come into a fan football thread of a team you couldn’t care less about, and act like a fan, while not being able to realize how transparent that type of posting really is.

Now Garropolo is saying it was a result of a miscommunication between him and his receiver. He just looked scared to me as about 3 rushers were coming, even if the WR had turned in, Hughes was still right there.
