Nice win, get one more out of this 7 game road stretch and I would be pleased.

Speaking of bad decisions ...
Sad to see Haula's injury. The kid has been an awesome player for Vegas.
They will miss him. Just like we do.

Just checked on Tuch. After starting the year on IR, he has 3G 4A in 8 games since he returned. Good call Bruce.

Anaheim and St Louis left on the 7 gamer
3-2 currently
5-2 still on the table
3-4 still on the table
2nd place in the Central
The tough Central
Tonight would go a long way towards showing the league we are a team to be taken seriously.

Since I'm on the bandwagon I thought I should watch a game. Totally dominating Anaheim tonight. I'm liking what I'm seeing.

Maybe the best streak of Wild hockey. Ever.
Today will tell a lot.
The rest of the league is paying attention.
The Ducks were in awe. Seriously
Pretty impressive by the Wild on a back to back.
The blues will have a lot of emotion pent up for us today.
If we meet it it’ll really tell us that we’ve turned a corner
Been an incredible stretch of hockey.

3-2 GG's. Pretty damn nice roadie considering the circumstances. Can't wait to see what they look like next time out. I think it's December 48th.

As well as we are playing we really need a couple guys to get off their ass.

Mikko - 2 goals
Coyle - 2 goals
Nino - 1 goal (as you guys have pointed out)

We cannot keep relying on Granny/Staal/The D to get us netters.

1. Granny is small and has worn down, or gotten hurt, every year.
2. Staal has to run out of gas at some point
3. We aren't San Jose

Minnesota's five wins on its road trip were the most in team history, and its 24 points this season are the most in its history after 17 games

Crazy!

Started 1-2-2, 10-2-0 since.

Just when I think I'm out, they pull me back in...

(I still don't think they can win a playoff series...)

We're also hearing tales of a drunken man, stumbling through western Minnesota.

Me either, but we're jaded by year-after-year futility in post-season.

Never been more excited about this team.
One helluva roadie.
We aren’t just lucking out.
We’re finding ways every night.
Our legs were gone Sunday.
Still won the game over a fired up bunch of jack wagons
Loved seeing Seeler punk Perron. Loved it.
Also liked parise and Koivu shaming their C.
You never shoot the puck AT another player like that you pos.
They like each other right now You can see Foligno is the guy.
He’s the first guy to pump up everyone and they also trust him to protect them
A roadie like that can really build something

So help this more casual Wild fan out:

What's the difference this year? We all seemed really negative about the Wild in the preseason -- no big offseason moves, more of the same, etc. Is it a "team more than sum total of its parts" situation? Is Granny becoming the stud we've been looking for? Is Dubs finally becoming more than merely unpredictable?

What the hell. Shouldn't you be at the North Dakota state line with an empty gin bottle, flipping em off and yelling "f*** you and you're stupid college team" by now?

Okay, okay, I have both feet on the wagon now, but one is still just on the edge. This team does this to us every year, they're a very good regular season team capable of going on runs like we are seeing now. All I can do is watch and enjoy while they're hot because it never seems to carry over into the playoffs. For some reason they just don't have that extra gear that the great playoff teams always shift into come playoff time. I'm hoping the ability to roll 4 lines and 3 solid sets of D will help them save that extra gear for the playoffs this year. A few more wins and both feet will be firmly planted back on the wagon....GO WILD!!

It's really a perfect storm so far and you are right. Nobody was thrilled with the offseason.

Biggest reasons IMO in order:

1a. No 'bad Duby's' as of yet
1b. BB has had some time to get rid of 'not his guys' and bring in 'his guys'
2. ST's are much better
3. Granny is on fire
4. We aren't easily pushed around in our own zone
5. Zach is healthy and playing well
6. Even though I mentioned the other day that we aren't SJ, our D is really helping out in the scoring dept

Now, if 1a, 2, 5 or 6 go South....we could be in trouble. That being said. I mentioned it last year. BB is not Richards/Yeo. If we start losing he'll get us out of it much quicker so we won't have those nasty valleys that use to kill us.

It's because we don't have superstars. We are loaded with 2's and 3's but we have no 1's. No OV8's/Cindy/Matthews/Kane types. We had one at one time and it's the farthest we've ever got. Can you imagine that same Gaborik with this supporting cast and coaching staff? We'd be locks to reach the finals.

Very true, but the way this team is run we will never bottom out enough to be able to draft one of those generational talents. However, maybe now that Fletcher is gone we won't be trading away all of our draft picks for 3 week rentals so who knows......

Yeap. I've said many times that the best thing that ever happened to the expansion MN Wild was the hiring of JL. The worst thing that ever happened to the expansion MN Wild was the hiring of JL.

I will never apologize for it. That was one of the best things I've ever witnessed. That run was magical. Hell, I still laugh at myself for calling my wife (then GF) when Bruno scored. It wasn't possible and yet, it happened.

That being said, it robbed us of Cleveland Browns level of draft picks over time.
