Someone really going for it woulda looked at Wayne Simmons
WE look at the Viktor Rask types.

Fenton probably misread it. He thought he was getting Tuukka.

How bad is Simmons contract? Might still be in the cards, who knows?

At first look the 2 trades made this week don't do anything to help this team other than the added cap space, but if it's just the tip of the iceberg we could see more coming. If nothing else we get to see some different players whiff on open nets.....

I peeked in here to see what everyone thought of the Nino trade but ended up learning something so fascinating. Apparently men are pigs!

Mailing it in. Reusso was on kfan. He figured Grandland and Staal might be moved before deadline if the situation doesn’t improve.

Sounded kind Zucker has a no trade that kicks in sometime in July he might be shopped also while they can.

Blowing it up seems to be on horizon.

I'm ready to see it blown up. I haven't been able to watch an entire game from beginning to end in quite some time now. This team just seems to be going through the motions and are playing with no heart or intensity at all any more. We used to at least get an occasional good outing, but haven't even seen that lately.

Do Parise and Suter have any value to anybody?

Seems to me "blowing it up" would be a lot more effective if you could unload those contracts.

I would guess 'No' on Parise but Suter is still pretty good.

I'm pretty sure the way those contracts were constructed Parise and Suter are here for the duration, or until they retire, which ever comes first.

Easy call

That one was written in stone before it ever started.
Poor us. That's how we do things. Poor us.
Our buddy got traded. Poor us.
While the Ducks have moved 6 guys, and were ready to play.

Parise with a career-high 11 SOG
This is what I meant by "no real offensive talent"
Getting shots on goal is a skill, to be sure.
Putting them IN makes you an offensive talent.
He's simply one of those guys who really can't do much more than pound away and hope it squeaks in. A realllllllllly spendy one of those guys.

Canes thrilled about acquiring a "real goal scorer"
That's a good one.

And yeah ... I know. I know. He'll tear the shit out of it for awhile. And make us all mad. Before he disappears, forever.
But he's NOT what they think he is, right now.

They both have no move clauses in their contracts. They can't be traded or made available for an expansion draft or demoted ... yada yada yada.

Nada looked like the epitome of a player phoning it in from game 1 this year. He just doesn't look the least bit interested.

So you are saying he is not a sniper.

It really was pathetic that no one could put the puck in the goal.

In all fairness, Dubnyk pitched a shutout. It was the NTGII that gave up 3 on 8 shots. Kinda a reoccurring theme here Fenton. Hmmmm.

So it seems we need 2 goalies, a couple of offensive defensemen, and some top six forwards that are actually top six forwards and can score. The more I think about it the more it looks like we need more than just a tweak here and there.......

So that means.....Coyle, Zucker, Staal, Brodin, Granlund would be traded if they need to blow it up (Dubes too).

I would put the focus on goalie and forward. Spurgeon and Dumbo provide plenty of firepower on the blue line.

I wouldn't be surprised if any of those skaters are moved. I doubt Fenton could get anyone drunk enough to take NTG off of our hands.
