D is way overpaid for what they are producing. Too many top picks and too much money invested in that performance.

Hunter earned his paycheck. No one else did.

Agree, kind of. He played hard and made the biggest difference, but 3 tackles, 3 assts and 1 sack isn't enough.

He single-handedly saved 11 points with 2 of those 3 tackles.

I'm happy for him. Could've done more.

I'm still in disbelief that we spent all that money on D and we get fed this turd sandwich.

Nobody will touch those contracts with a ten foot pole.

What a mess.

It’s obvious that opposing teams are scheming to exploit Barr and Alexander and Hughes all to great success. Zimmer better figure out a way to counter it (he hasn’t so far) or this carnage will continue.

If you truly wanted to shake things up next year it wouldn't be hard to do at all:
Barr gone
Waynes gone
Richardson gone (I think he has played decent though)
Griffin could be gone

I think we are seeing how valuable Griffin is... my guess is he would have gotten at least a sack tonight and perhaps ended a scoring drive.

Big deal in a tight game.

Hope the kids can grow into their roles.

A healthy Griffen, and then a defense that got physical and hit hard in the 2nd half was the key last year.

But now the rules changed, and hitting hard is a penalty, and Griffen is out.

For defense, get aggressive like the Rams, focus on either turnovers from the 2ndary and or heavy pressure up front.

Beat Philly, and it's a different season, remember they are still viewed as the Champs. Vikes COULD beat Philly in a shootout if Cousins continues to play well, and the D gets some turnovers.

Wentz won't be used to shootouts, whereas Cousins is getting used to being in one.

I like the idea of Barr at DE, or bench him for a week and see if you can light a fire.

Hughes should be playing in Wayne's spot. Just take your lumps for a few weeks, and by then Hughes will be outplaying what you would have gotten from Waynes, and Waynes could excel covering #3 WRs.

Man that looked like our Divisional playoff vs The Greatest Show on Turf without the 2nd half Kickoff and the 3rd qtr meltdown.

The pass rush can't get home. McVay owned Zimmer tonight, however it's tough when guys can't win up front.

Cousins is a player, though our offense had the several chances to take over at crucial moments. They seemed to always be in desperation mode and couldn't make that play when needed. We had a chanc at 17-14 to make it to 24-14, instead 3 & out and next you know 28-17 Rams.

Still we played this juggernaut tough in their house. Hopefully the Rams peaked too early and we get them back in January.

I'll post some thoughts from being at the game in the main thread.

Was the three and out when the Vikings were up 17-14 the series when the dumb asses called two up the middle running plays on 1st and 2nd down? I can't blame Cousins for that.

I swear Zimmer says "if we are ahead at all you must run the ball early and often". It happens all the time with the Vikings, get a lead and just run the damn ball.

Maybe every single RB needs to be cut to take the sharp objects away from Zimmer.

I thought that was a turning point in the game, and highlighted the difference in philosophies between the two teams.

I mentioned it in the game day thread, but it appeared as though our coaching staff were the only people in the world that were unaware that we were in a shootout.

Rhodes penalty (kicking the flag) was another big error that impacted the game.

And his grabby penalty before that which extended early scoring drive.

I could almost live with the aggressive (holding) penalty, but the complete boneheaded dead ball foul is inexcusable.

Both were big, 1st extended drive, 2nd Zimmer yanked him for the balance of the drive.
