Maybe we’ll get better trade value for him now

Maybe that or maybe people will get rational and keep the team together.

Jimmy Butler goes from hearing boos to MVP chants during Timberwolves home opener

Way to make us proud, Wolves fans.

Absurd.

Eh, if I was at the game I'd probably be yelling it too. Not because I believe it. Just for fun.

Last night showed a perfect example of who Jeff Teague is.

He's not a bad player, but he's not a PG. He's a small SG.

I think part of the reason he pounds the ball so much and is so indecisive about scoring is because he’s trying to play the point and it doesn’t come naturally to him. He’s thinking about what to do instead of just doing it.

He doesn’t see mismatches, he’s a horribly inaccurate passer.

But he’s a very solid 3pt shooter and an incredibly underrated driver, but he doesn’t do nearly enough of either. The guy can get to the rim against almost anyone – but he’s so hesitant to do it.

He really should be an instant-offense 6th man off the bench. Bring him into the game and tell him to always be in attack mode. Shoot if you’re open, drive every chance you get. I really think he’d thrive in that role. Basically the JJ Barea role in Dallas.

He was really good scoring last night, and 27/4 is a terrific game for him, but it illustrates the difference between him and a guy like Rubio. Ricky may have had 14/12 for us last night, but there is no way KAT would've had less than 20 points.

Classic yin/yang of Teague. Last night he had an amazing slam. Stopped for a moment to flex afterwards. Just enough to let his man get a couple steps lead down court and he got a layup on the other end.

He did last night exactly what they envisioned him to do.

Not going to complain about a win but.... giving up 120 plus points per game is not a formula for success

Thibs on Josh Okogie: “You have to settle on a 9 man rotation. Right now, he’s not in it.”

Says who? And by Game 2? Absurd.

He does. 2 games in and we're the only team that hasn't played at least 10 players.

Reflecting on last nights game Thibs choices seem to be good. Jimmy with one of the best games ever played in a wolves uniform. Rose superb in 23 minutes with 8 assists and Tolliver hitting the threes we need.

Yep. Okogie is a rookie and Thibs is Thibs. All Okogie will do this year is work on his towel waving skills.

I too want to see Okogie play. However, we are not at practice with the team and maybe he isn't earning that right at practice.

Maybe. But what he does in practice is irrelevant because Thibs is Thibs and rookies don't play.

Went out to dinner instead of watching last night. Blasted through it this morning. Basic thoughts:

1. We beat a really bad team. That’s a big deal because it was a major problem last year. You have to beat bad teams.

2. Our defense is absolutely atrocious. Did we really give up 41 in the 3rd quarter?

3. Our offense completely ignores KAT. We have him aimlessly floating on the perimeter and no one seems intent to pass to him.

4. Wiggins is pretty hopeless.

5. Great game by Jimmy. He needs to keep playing like this to up his trade value. I will absolutely risk missing out on another “1 and done” playoff appearance only to have him walk after the year if it means we can get some good pieces for him.

I think Tyus has taken another step. I was watching him a lot last night and while he doesn't stand out or pile up gaudy numbers, he does a lot of non - box score things that make the team effective. Just in terms of position, flow, smarts. And he's playing with a lot of confidence.

Jon K: I’m told Jimmy Butler will rest tonight on second night of a back to back. Similar to Kawhi Leonard and Gordon Hayward

That is proven false. Dunn played a lot. There were others I believe.

First of all that was beyond a great game. It was an all time wolves game. Stat wise, possibly the best ever in a Wolves uniform. I don't care how well Jimmy plays we are not getting anything close to fair value. How about having some balls keep him all season and see what he really does. Sure it's a risk, but what Jimmy says he will do matters nothing at all. Just what he actually does.
I simply don't believe that if we have a good season with him this year that he will sign for at least 50 million less somewhere else next year.

As much as I hate it I understand it. He just recovered from surgery. However, if he is still sitting second game of back to backs a couple weeks from now I call BullSHit.

Rumors of Derek Rose's death have been greatly exaggerated. As I type this Wiggins misses back to back FTs. He looked like a changed man earlier.
