From Canis:

Before Butler was traded: 4-9
After Butler overall: 17-14
After Butler w/ Rose: 10-12
After Butler w/o Rose: 7-2
After Thibs overall: 2-2
After Thibs w/ Rose: 0-2
After Thibs w/o Rose: 2-0

Very small sample size, but it says a lot.

I would love to unload Rose ahead of the deadline.

That's actually a very intriguing possibility. Let's say the Wolves slip and aren't really in the hunt any more. Rose has gotten a lot of attention and love around the league but he was Thibs' guy, not Leydon's. Maybe Leydon is looking to make his mark around deadline time and there would be interest in Rose.

I'd love to move Rose, but there are a few things working against us:

1. Taylor seems to really like him - as a person and as a player.
2. He's making the team a shit ton of money. I believe his merchandise is outselling the rest of the Wolves combined.
3. He's (oddly) been nearly the sole focus of the Wolves PR and Social Media campaigns all year.
4. He can veto any trade.

Minnesota guard Tyus Jones will wear a boot on his sprained left ankle for several days and be day-to-day on a return after that, league source tells ESPN.

James Nunnally signed a 10-day with Rockets earlier today & tonight played a season-high 24 minutes, tied his season-high with 9 points & knocked down a season-best 3 3-pointers.

I thought he actually looked really good.

That was a crazy game. Rockets took 70 Three's (63 in regulation). Dinwiddie broke out of his slump and really played well down the stretch and in OT. Allen dominated inside against a Center-less Rockets team.

I was pounding the table for Jarrett Allen....

I think the reason we cut him was we had to guarantee to pay him for the rest of the season. We wanted the roster spot available. I don't see Rose bring us a lot in return, since he is on a vet minimum and a free agent after the season. You also don't trade a fan favorite, unless you can get something of significant value in return. Can Bayless be traded at the deadline or are we stuck with him for the season?

Wouldn't Rose be super tradable on that salary?

Perhaps we could unload a bad contract with him.

I'm sure we could trade him, but no one is going to take on Dieng, Teague or Wiggins to acquire Rose.

Plus like I said upthread:

I get the reasons why he won't be moved. But the data you've provided in earlier posts show we are a better team w/o him. I would think wins and losses would be more important than a popularity contest.

Appears like we are about a 500 team right now. That isn't going to get us to the 8th seed even.

I don't think it is too our advantage to become the 8th seed this year and to be blown out by the number 1. We have to get worse before we get better and if keeping Rose is the price for missing the playoffs, then so be it. Saunders will be judged on his ability to relate to the players, fans and the rest of the organization. Can he keep the games exciting and develop the players. How well does attendance do under him. Can he attract decent free agents. Does he understand the game enough to eventually put us in a winning situation and can he get the players to buy into what he is showing them. Will he bring in the necessary assistants to develop the players

I'd be surprised if the Wolves are even aware of those numbers.

And its not so much about being popular as it is the amount of money he brings in - especially for being on a minimum contract. We're near the bottom of the league in attendance and revenue, so the money he generates is significant. Especially when Glen is still paying Thibs like 20M...

I wouldn't be opposed to giving Anthony Bennett a 10 day tryout. He's still only 25, appears to have worked his way into shape and seems really dedicated to the game. In the last 3 years he's shot better than 42% on good volume from 3, and he's doing a lot of other good things.

He currently can be signed by any team.

Looks like the Wolves have hired Schlicting. Is he a decent assistant or part of the Country Club gang.

125% Country Club

Sichting previously worked for the Wolves from 1995-2005 and 2007-09, coaching under Flip Saunders, Randy Wittman, and Kevin McHale at various points.

He also was on Randy Wittman's staff in Washing for the 2012-13 season (along with Ryan Saunders).

Doris laying into Wigs. Can't believe he has zero double digit assist games and only 6 double digit rebound games in his entire NBA career.

She's so good. And she broke ground for others, like Kara Lawson, who I think is also fantastic.

I love Kara Lawson. I hated when she stopped doing national games to be the Wizards broadcaster.

So prepared, so knowledgeable and not afraid to be real and truthful.

This is where Petersen has lost me. He's way too much of a company man. He sold out, and he knows better.

In a league that is ruled by wings, we're playing a 2 PG, 3 PF lineup...

Thanks Thibs.

It never ceases to amaze me at how bad Teague is at throwing entry passes.

It just doesn't seem possible for a starting NBA PG..

I've been dumbfounded sometimes why he is even in the league.

In many ways, he's the poster for what not to be as a PG, yet we covet and pay him.
