That last shot of Popovich talking to Saunders pretty much captures who Popovich is. He loves basketball. He wants to see everybody succeed. I think his impact on the game isn't any less than LeBron's.

Caught that myself and had the same thoughts. So good for basketball.

The idea of Saric has been better than the reality. I think it's reasonable to expect improvement, but I'd love to have Bjelica instead.

I like how he makes people aware of what's going on around us with regard to political issues.

Saric started out really good here, like the change of scenery energized him. Then something happened and he seems to be second guessing everything instead of just playing. Hopefully he can find himself again.

Can't imagine how we could lose this one tonight. Ayton and Holmes both out. Phoenix will probably have to start Acy at C, and dust off Bender and Anderson.

A comment from Canis:

Last night, with both Ayton and Holmes playing, Phoenix got outrebounded 53-26 by a Charlotte team playing without their starting center.

Now the Sun will be playing the second night of a road back to back with their only healthy bigs being Quincy Acy, Ryan Anderson, and Dragan Bender.

67 points given up is inexcusable. Especially with Ayton out and Booker only getting 12.

Is there such a thing as a "moral defeat"? Because that sure felt like one.

Rose absolutely won one for us tonight.
What a clutch performance.
Still a hollow win for me. We looked terrible besides Towns in the 1st and Rose in the 2nd.

Still not crazy about the shot selection. I don't even mind that they left it to Rose. He was having a good half. But a fadeaway 18 footer is the best we can do? No pick, no nothing? But he nailed it. That's all that matters I guess. Another landmark Wolves win.

Rose closed the deal for us, but I wonder how much we would have needed it if he wasn't in the game for the first 3 quarters.

Very disappointed in Ryan so far.

How can we have no idea what to do when KAT gets doubled? In the 2nd half last night every time KAT got doubled, there was zero off ball movement. Just a bunch of guys standing around watching instead of making themselves available.

I think one of the reasons we're better when Rose sits is because we have no ISO players and the Wolves are forced to move and cut instead of stand around as spectators.

It was really kind of embarrassing. I've seen middle school teams react better to a constant double team.

Wiggins remains the worst wing in the league without the ball in his hands. And, he's also one of the worst with the ball in his hands.

Since his monthly good game, Wiggins is 28-78 from the field.

On the verge of dipping below 40% on the season. Beyond unacceptable.

From John at Canis (the guy with media credentials who is around the team):

He is mentally fragile imo and in his own head more than anyone else could be. You can see it on his face after he misses a few threes and after defensive breakdowns. I don’t think he loves his role or the Wolves’ style of play. I think he’s quite talented but it’s been a tough adjustment for him and he strikes me as the type of person that is extremely hard on themselves, only leading to worse results.

We just can't be a serious playoff team with Wiggins on the roster. Such a HUGE mistake and disappointment he has been.

Also agree on how the team looked. KAT is doubled and we have no answer and very few adjustments. Rose playing out of his head was the only reason we pulled it out. Going to be real interesting to see how they fare playing the Suns back to back. How will Ryan adjust?
