I like Zim but the facts are in and he is not a very good HC

-Poor clock management
-Poor use of the challenge flag
-In game and halftime adjustments are nonexistent
-Team comes out flat far too many times. Esp big games NFCCG, Play in game last season, Buffalo
-Is routinely out-coached
-Needs an experienced offensive coordinator in order to have a competent offense
-Kicking game has been dreadful during his tenure

Zimmer HC 5 years.

Best records over the past five seasons.

1. NE 62-18 HOF QB
2. Pitt 54-25-1 HOF QB
3. KC 54-26 A Smith 4 years and now P Mahomes
4. Sea 51-28-1 RWilson- HOF most likely
5. Dal 48-32 Romo/Dak
6. Min 47-32-1 Teddy/Bradford/Keenum/Cousins- Cassel 2 and Hill 1
7. Car 46-34 Cam Newton
8. Phil 46-34 Foles/Bradford/ Wentz/ Foles- Sanchez started 10 games
9. GB 45-34-1 HOF QB
10. NO 45-35 HOF QB

Nagy, Pederson and Mcvay all are off to excellent starts. Zimmer is good head coach unless W/L's mean nothing.

Disagree on the lack of adjustments.
Challenges really? Ok maybe cite stats here I'm not looking that up.
Clock management- my opinion he has improved this.
Record indicates he is hardly routinely out coached.
Flat games - ok
Kicking game- I mean seriously Walsh proved to be a head case and Carlson cost the team the playoffs. A 27 yarder gives him a playoff win and a 35 yarder gets him in the playoffs last season.

Will see Bill. Skol.

I think he has improved over the years on clock management and challenge flags.

Flat games/ Nationally televised games: Hasn't improved and seems to be getting worse.

As far as the defense just needs to be more aggressive: I think our regression on defense was just 4 or 5 guys having off years(fat contract blues). That is somewhat coaching but players need to shoulder most of the responsibility.

We want to crown McVay but I could easily see the Rams dropping off by 3 or 4 wins. Cooper Kupp is a good player but I don't think he was the only reason the Rams' offense started to slow down at the end of the year. Defensive coordinators eventually figure out the weaknesses of teams and Goff struggled for the most part.

There is the talkvikes opinion of Coach Zimmer's defense and then there is P Manning

Here’s what Manning had to say about Zimmer via Ben Goessling of ESPN.com.

"You hear about the different types of offenses out there—the West Coast Offense, the Bill Walsh type of offense," Manning said. "Zimmer, in my opinion, is a founder of kind of the type of defense that he runs, that Cincinnati runs, that Miami runs, that different disciples [of Zimmer run]. Now it may be somebody above him that was his founder or mentor, but we kind of refer to it as 'They're running the Zimmer defense.' When you've got your own defense, you're doing something good.
"

And at one point the same thing was said about the “Tampa 2”.

The game evolves. Some coaches evolve with it, most are replaced by younger guys.

Ok. Zimmer is still the head coach so that theory will have to wait. We will see. If things go south you will get your wish. If not you will probably have to suffer through more of Zimmer and his old archaic ways. Unless he retires.

What do you think of Stefanski?

Suffer through more of Zimmer? Just because I’ve questioned some things he does doesn’t mean I’ve been one of the people calling for his head. There is a middle ground between “he’s the greatest” and “he has tO go”.

I doubt anyone has concrete thoughts on Stefanski. We haven’t seen his system in place yet or how he functions with Zimmer.

Most are replaced by younger guys ? Reads to me that you think his style is antiquated, out of touch with the evolving NFL game, and are a ready for a younger coach with fresh ideas.

Despite the fact the defense has performed top ten the last 4 seasons. Conversely the offense has lacked consistency year to year.

4 OCs and 4 QBs does not help.

I stand corrected if you are not calling for his head.

The man's got to produce. The lack of OL progression leads me to believe he thinks he can win with defense.
This year will tell the tale. Not a league that suffers failure gladly.

He is 12-for-28 in his career on challenges. In 2018 he was 1-for-5. I don't have anything instantaneous I can throw out on clock management but my memory says there were some problems.

I've come to the conclusion that I'm in an unhealthy co-dependent relationship with the Vikings. Damn it.
