I took thorough enjoyment at watching the Pack continue to be a dumpster fire. Philly can lose to Tennessee, Dallas, and NYG twice. It didn't have to be a loss to the Packers. Packer twitter is a full blown civil war right now. Life is good.

I think a backup QB is overrated, unless you have the 85 Bears defense or the Ravens defense when Dilfer was QB.

If your QB gets hurt, you are done almost all of the time. I wouldn't spend any draft capital trying to get one.

Well, nobody drafts a backup. You draft somebody hoping they develop into starter material or why bother.

But you have to spend draft capital at the position.

Our main focus should be creating competition at starter, with the backup being held back from the starter position. Not drafted or signed and anointed as a backup.

Dilfer by the way was the back-up in Baltimore. Took over the job during the season (from Banks).

Not that Dilfer was a good QB; he was just barely adequate as a starter (went to one pro bowl) after his first couple of disastrous seasons.

As a backup, he actually played well (for the ravens / seahawks) ... and makes an argument for what a decent backup can get you.

We have to invest in the position (draft, sign, trade). Especially this coming offseason with Cousins on a one year deal.

I am fine trading away future #1 picks if they think a true #1 of the future is there.

I think it's a waste of time worrying about having a good/better than average backup.

Geno Smith is the perfect example of what the Vikings should do.

Find a talented QB that was thrown into a bad situation.

Per Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, cornerback Andrew Booth Jr. is having knee surgery today. It isn’t known what type of surgery he’s having. . .Rapoport says that the decision will be made during the surgery as to what procedure is needed. . .but there’s a chance that the surgery could cause him to miss the rest of the season.

The Booth situation tends to validate those who objected on draft night to KAM drafting someone with his injury history. I was OK with the pick at the time.

After watching Chicago/NY Jets, I hope the Vikes are prepared for a physical game.

The Jets offense with Mike White, looks like they prefer a lot of really short passes. I wouldn't worry much about them throwing deep, play up more and try to disrupt or stop the short passes quickly.

I am hoping they put PP on Wilson, Wilson looked like quite a stud with his college tape, looked smooth against the Bears.

With Fields and Mooney out Chicago is a bottom 4 team.

They also traded away their 2 best defenders midseason, they are clearly tanking.

At least he sort of made up for it with Z and Hock.

Evans might be decent, and Ingram might be fine by the end of the year, or if they switch him to LG during the off-season.
