A good half of basketball. Up 5. And without Ant! Not blowing out Atlanta like last time, but hey they’re a good team.

I liked Finch’s rotations. He kept good mixes out there. This could work in the playoffs… plus Ant!

Rough second half. Like I said, Atlanta isn’t bad. But the wolves just cut an 11 point deficit to 3. Not dead yet.

Never been one to complain about the refs. It’s pointless and exhausting. But Trae is getting the Jordan treatment tonight. Don’t breathe on him.

Oddest thing about tonight’s game. You’d think with Towns and Rudy both available, Naz would have a diminished role.

So he ends up the leading scorer with 26.

Weirdest team ever.

Jaden McDaniels has become one of the best defenders in the league this year

And now he’s developing his offensive game, in the games without Ant he’s averaging:

21.5 PPG
5.5 RPG
2.3 APG
48/52/90

Shams Charania@ShamsCharania
Timberwolves rising two-way standout Jaden McDaniels sits down with @Stadium: “I do believe I’m the best defender in the NBA.” On his All-Defensive team desires, trying to stop NBA’s best, Jamal Murray saying “stop blocking my jumpers”, entering league with Anthony Edwards, more.

Just when you thought the west couldn’t get any tighter. 3 games separate 4th place thru 12th place.

Every remaining game is basically a playoff game.

Great game last night!! Wow, they overcame McDaniels limited play due to fouls, Ant and Kat being out of rhythm most of the game offensively, BAD free throw shooting, at least one questionable flagrant call but played excellant defense which probably was the key. Fun, fun, fun, First win on the road against Golden State in 8 years. True playoff basketball has started, hope they can keep the wins coming.

From a pure basketball standpoint, Jack Borman is probably the best writer Canis has ever had. Dude should have a national gig, and we're lucky he doesn't.

I always learn something new about the game and about the Timberwolves players and/or schemes when I read him.

Mike Conley is the Key to the Timberwolves’ Postseason Viability

Thompson and Curry a combined 13 for 40. Poole kept them in the game. He's developing into a real good player.

This is the kind of ugly but effective defensive game that could lead to playoff success. Edwards looked nowhere near like himself and Towns wasn't hitting...until the big 3s at the end. But they gutted it out anyway and got the win.

I think that's the overpay they're going to regret as they eventually have to rebuild/retool.

He'll have moments where he gets hot and really lights it up, but he's not a particularly good shooter, he's a poor defender and kind of an atrocious decision maker.

Nobody in the West is a clear cut favorite. Deep Wolves team has just as good of chance as anybody to get to Finals.

Enjoyed the article you referenced. Today's CANIS posting by the same author was excellant also. I am not the most sophisticated fan, but this sure made sense to me and highlighted the prior weaknesses being ironed out that can hopefully carry us a long ways.

Just looking at the remaining games for MN, LAC, Suns, GS, NO, LAL, and OKC. Superficially I would say Suns and maybe LAC appear to have the most challenging, but LAL have 5 of 7 road games, NO schedule looks tough but 4 of 6 at home, GS looks prety easy but still 3 on road out of 5. All things considered Wolves look in a good position. Of course I'm looking at it basically from who is till in the hunt for position and who isn't. Level of competition is likely to change as teams lose their chance or secure a position and choose to rest some.

not sure why I overlooked Kings, they have 5 of 7 on road, but rather easy otherwise, though their last 4 would be toughest, @ NO, @ DAL, home vrs GS, @ DEN

Not really a big conspiracy guy but does anyone else get the feeling the refs are going to do their best to get the lakers get in the playoffs, and out of the play in if possible.

I’m braced for another lopsided refereeing night. But no excuse. That’s life in the NBA. Just need to fight through it. Get ahead enough that refereeing isn’t a factor.

Naz may have played his last game in a Wolves uniform. Although he has surprisingly made it work OK in recent games with KAT and Rudy available, I doubt the Wolves will try to make that a long term situation.

Naz has had a great contract year. He's going to get paid, but probably elsewhere.

He really has increased his ball handling skills to where he was playing PF point at times and he isn't such a liability on defense with his weight loss.
