being around .500 through November is actually better than I expected.

I said at the beginning I expect dysfunction for a couple of months. Then hopefully start to put it together. That's why I predicted only a slight improvement on their regular season record, but by season's end be a team better equipped than last season to advance in the playoffs.

That could still happen.

I'm not surprised by the record, but I am surprised in how we got to it.

This is a very bad team. They're soft, not very smart and the coach is actively working against them.

We're 25% through the season and things are not trending upwards.

Utah is loving it. Nobody else is.

Went all-in and it’s blowing up in their face instantly.

KAT being out may end up being good for them in the long run. They’ll have an extended time to figure out how to function without him. That will spur growth.

And that is not a knock on Towns by the way. I’ve been a frequent critic of him. But this season he has toed the line. Done everything asked of him, accepting a new role, trying to accommodate Rudy, all while keeping his emotions pretty much in check. His points and rebounds are down slightly, but his assists are up 2 over his career rate.

Whatever problems they’ve had, Towns has been the least of them.

Edwards decides to take over the 4th quarter. Dang we need to see some more of that.

How does Rudy get only one rebound, and in the first game without Towns? Not complaining too much, since they won, but just weird stat of the day.

And yes, an absolute superstar 4th quarter for Edwards. He took over.

Finch forced to play some mad chemist and started Wendell Moore. The rookie responded with a solid if unspectacular game. A couple of slips here and there but overall played smart and solid.

Strangely, Gobert's rebounding percentage has significantly decreased with Towns off the floor. Small sample size (229 minutes) but nonetheless strange.

And for one night anyway the Gobert trade pays off. Massive block to seal the win.

Russell was just unconscious in the 4th quarter. 20 points on 7-7 shooting, 6 of them 3s. Watching it unfold, after about 3 of them I was like “Okay D’lo now on this possession give someone else a cha… oh never mind he made another one”.

But the thing is, it never felt like hero ball. When he first came to Minnesota he’d try to go that route and it was painful. Now he has matured. He plays within himself, with confidence. They were good shots.

And of course, to state the negative, depending on 15-20 points from Russell down the stretch is not a sustainable winning formula. It masks a lot of other issues. But it’s better than losing.

Not a Russell fan, but he was unbelievable last night. What a 4th quarter.

The Wolves officially stink. I sure hope they can turn it around but it doesn't look good currently.

I thought Gobert was alot better player than what he has shown. He has terrible hands.

considering they traded away 4/5 1st round picks he has been a monumental bust.

I would give it this year and next, if they still suck I would go full tank and trade away absolutely everybody.

Franchise is absolute trash, arguably the worst in all of North American professional sports.

Literally could throw darts at random pictures of the top 30 players in the draft every year and do better than the Wolves have since the franchise was created.

They need George Costanza, when he did the exact opposite of everything.

Yeah but it was Jerry who suggested it.

DeMar DeRozan on the Wolves putting up a franchise record 150 against the Bulls:

He’s not wrong. That’s embarrassing.

It seems like they are playing better without Towns and Gobert.

They're playing through Ant with D'Lo off ball the last 2 games. It's made a huge difference.

And Reid and Knight are just playing complimentary roles and attacking the basket hard at every chance.

The Ant is one special player that is just getting started!
Loved him from the start.

Wow, these last few games have been fun to watch. The way players have stepped up, and be honest last night, no KAT, Rudy, T Prince, Anderson, JMac (6), thats got to be 5 of the top 10, if not top 8 in rotation. Some have clearly grown their game like Naz, JMac, Knight, Garza, others just their groove and shooting stroke. But its the energy they have been bringing, and teamwork. Hopefully they can smoothily transition as the others become available.

David L, not trying to criticize just get more of your insights, but you have expressed serious doubt about Naz in the past, do you think he has made the jump a number of his team mates give him credit for? And yes, I think playing thru Ant has helped both the team and Ant immensely. Interesting to me that some saying Knight has done so well because his game is similar to Naz and Dlo and Ant get that.

Anyway, hope we take it to them Wednesday.

Ant follows it up with a near triple double and another Wolves win. It's like without having to find ways to get the ball in more hands, Finch has simplified with Great results. Just get the ball in Edwards' hands and let flow from there. They're much faster in transition D without the two bigs.

Yeah. He's made a very big jump. The biggest thing for me is he isn't settling for 3s. He's driving/rolling hard to the basket. And he's improved his body so much, that he's significantly faster and more agile than he's been.

It's what both Naz and Knight are doing so well. They're moving towards the basket without the ball and giving all the guards a much better target than what thy were getting from Gobert and KAT.

Naz still isn't a good defender (outside of shot blocking), but he has a lot of value. So we're bound to lose him after this year (if he isn't traded before the deadline).

How much can you pay a 3rd big when the 2 guys ahead of him are signed long-term for around 90M/year?

That's why its vital that Knight continue to improve so he can be the likely low cost Naz replacement.

Naz is a great bench big. Probably not a strong enough defender or rebounder to justify being a full time starter for most teams, but he can come in off the bench or spot start when needed and give teams a different look than Towns or Rudy or whoever, provide energy, and is a legit offensive force.
