Naz is a great bench big. Probably not a strong enough defender or rebounder to justify being a full time starter for most teams, but he can come in off the bench or spot start when needed and give teams a different look than Towns or Rudy or whoever, provide energy, and is a legit offensive force.

He's a top-flight back-up and probably a solid starter on specific teams.

He's actually upped his rebounding this year as well. Granted, KAT is having a down year rebounding, but Naz is outrebounding him solidly.

The passing, cutting, quick decision making style that was working so well the last 3 games was completely missing.

And our guards all ended up being forced to take a lot more difficult shots because Rudy was clogging the lane.

Finch has his work cut out for him...

Terrible team in a terrible stadium with terrible fans and terrible ownership in a great city. Sad.

We can't trade KAT until summer, and we aren't trading Rudy so soon after giving up so much for him.

So its on Finch to make it work.

Why does a tall guy like KAT shoot so many 3-pointers?

Because he's one of the best shooters in the game - and possibly the best shooting big man ever. He's much closer to Dirk Nowitski than Tim Duncan.

When he comes back he should be spotting up in the corners regularly and taking 8-10 3s a game. And if teams close out hard on him, he should use his ability to put the ball on the floor and attack the basket.

He could probably score a hyper efficient 25 PPG, while not clogging up the lane and allowing Ant to thrive.

True, it's not going to happen this soon, but it may be the best option. I don't know that Finch has a real solution given the make up of the players involved. KAT is probably the better chemistry player, given that he can evacuate the lane and remain extremely dangerous. For all his rim protection, Rudy creates defensive short comings as well.

Russell 1-13 from 3 point range in his last 2 games.
Hope we get a different version tonight.
Beating Boston at Boston will be a huge challenge.

What an embarrassing performance. Gobert v. Children, and yet he may have been the worst player on the floor tonight.

The Houston Rockets future looks better than ours.

Why did everyone think Rudy Gobert was such a great player? He. Is. Awful.

He's being used horribly.

Finch was all excited about unlocking all this extra "offensive potential" he saw in Gobert and he's gone away from everything he does well.

He's a terrific player that we're setting up to fail.

And don't get me started on the crap the guards and even forwards like McDaniels dump in Rudy's lap. The key to using Rudy is funneling stuff to him in an organized way. Doing zero guard rebounding and letting everything by all the time, a chaotic onslaught, is not the way to use him. At one point in this game JimPete chastised Rudy for not contesting a shot right at the rim, but as usual, he was left to guard 2 guys right at the rim on penetration and if he contested the one he laid off of, it would have been a pass and dunk. 6 of one half dozen of the other... You also have to funnel to him, which is to say you cannot let guys get too comfortable on the perimeter so that they feel like they can beat you only from there (and thus make Rudy's rim protection irrelevant).

Yep. They acted like they needed to make Gobert a focal point in the offense to justify the trade. They should have just embraced what he is...an awesome interior defender / rebounder, who will score in the teens by cleaning up the garbage. This insistence on "unlocking untapped offensive potential" has made him an impediment to the offensive flow and to players who should be featured offensively. The system has improved Gobert's offensive numbers at the expense of his team.

How many first round picks could the Wolves get for him today?

Awful trade, an owner should have said "Are you F'ing kidding me?"

That many future first rounders should have included a name like Durant, not a rebounder.

On the
@Sportico
question of whether Lore and Rodriguez plan on proceeding on ownership front, the answer is yes. They have officially let Glen Taylor know they have exercised their option, asked for a March 28th close (on the next 20%). Glen has agreed. #Timberwolves #LosLynx

They would be absolute idiots not to.

As horrible as this franchise has been throughout most of its existence, they could easily sell it for at least double what they paid immediately.

Lore and ARod paid 1.52B. The Suns are selling for 4B.

I seen an article showing that Walker Kessler has better stats than Gobert.

He's playing 18 minutes and averaging 6 pts and 6 reb. The article must feature a heavy dose of extrapolation.

It did.

But it would have been a much cheaper version for us to experiment with 2 bigs.

He's actually blocking almost twice as many shots as Rudy and has had a bigger impact on defense.

Kessler has had a much better start than I expected, but part of it is Finch shitting the bed in his use of Gobert.

I think he has looked great. Circumstances were favorable with Vanderbilt not being able to stay on the floor because of his propensity to get in foul trouble, and Olynyk getting injured, but Kessler has taken advantage of the situation. You can actually see him getting better game by game.

On to tonight. WTF was that? We didn't get beat at home by a depleted starting Pistons lineup, we got beat by Rodney McGruder, Diallo, No knees Bagley and fat ass Cory Joseph.

The worst team in all of the NBA beat us down with their second unit.

Why is Rivers on this team? Why is he even on a NBA roster?

How long does Finch run Edwards 40 minutes a night in a lost season?

This is a bad roster. The Gobert trade was horrible. And we may have a bottom 3 coach in the league.

Good thing we have Russell though. Twice a month he makes a difference. Seems like it's okay to expect more for that salary.

Not a Wiggins fan, but turns out if he's coached well, he can contribute in a team way.

Murray was being shopped aggressively. We sold out for Gobert.

It's almost like this franchise likes losing. The moves make no sense.

How long will it take to recover from the Gobert trade? How long to recover from the new coach hire after Finch is fired? Same shit.

We scored only 16 points in the 4th qtr....

This was suppose to be a gimme get right game. This team keeps getting worse and not sure if last night was even rock bottom yet.
