Yep, and before the instigator rules were put in place, you had bodyguards for the great ones.
Gretzky made a couple guys millions of dollars in their careers, just to make room for him.
Your comment made me think of Gretzkys one futile attempt at fighting .... our Neal Broten became Canadas most-hated man for pounding Wayne when he tried to fight him one night. It wasn't pretty. Wayne was a lover, not a fighter.

2-1 good guys and I can't believe what I just saw.  Skoula to unibrow for a goal.  Hockey God, I get it and you stink

That 3rd was eerily simmalur to JR's "hang on cause' we got no talent" teams.

Was hoping you'd check in, Jeff
Keep 'em coming.
yep, the three stars was me on TwinsTalk, I basically invented everything if you ask me.
Took me WEEKS to get the baseball guys to fully understand how it "works"
They thought (for most of the season) that the guy with ***s was the hero.
Sometimes all you can do is shake your head and say nothing.

Speaking of Shep, and the past drafts, read this bit of ass-covering. Too funny. You touched on it earlier, Jeff.

Yeah, but ... but .... but ....
"switch around Clutterbuck and Sheppard" Really? Did you just say that Tommy? THAT'S your rationale?

Great win. Whoda thunk?
However, it always amazes me, pretty similar to the AL/NL debates, the east to me just always seems weaker (a lot weaker).
And yeah, I know it doesn;t bear out, but to me, certain West styles just bury East teams.
I look back and w'd be scuffling under JL, but would go into high-flying Buffalo or Boston, and just wax them. By like 5-0 tunes.
Great work tonight, Brodz and Belanger and Zids for pissing off The Kid (awwww, too bad)
And of course, as long as you have Backy, and he's on, i thikk we can play with anyone.

Btw .... Wild's first pick Leddy was nailed last night and is out 6 weeks with a broken jaw.
Watch the Goph/Ua game Sunday .... there may be some feistiness as a result.

So can someone telling me why they broke up the Crosby/Z fight before they hit the ice? First time I've seen that like that unless they bothe were tired and just hanging on. This was just getting going and they went in to stop it.

Good to hear Bylsma's take, he's turned out to be one helluva coach in Pittsburgh.
Couple good articles in the Strib on the Wild.
Even got one for you, Jeff, on Zid ....
You'll be thrilled to know he thought the Wild got the worst of the deal when he and Crosby went off for 7 minutes. Too funny.
They're calling the Zanon/Zid D-pairing ... ZZ Top. I like that.
Lets keep this positive roll going boys.

Sheppard is going to become my new whipping boy soon.  A terrible TO in our zone to give the Nucks a 1-0 lead and then about a minute later he a prime scoring chance and misses the net by a foot.

Another utter shit game.  My 3 eggs for tonight

3 egg - Backstrom, he sucked tonight.  Very unBackstrom type of game

2 egg - Burns, does he realize that it's not a league mandate that you must shoot the puck on the PP if it hits your stick???  Brent, movement on the PP s good....

1 egg - Sheppard, let's all be honest here.  If he wasn't a high first round pick he would be in Houston.

We sucked.
Sorry to say I wasted a couple hours watching that.
Vancouver climbing on my hate list. Just simply cannot stand their 'tudes.
They are not "physical". They are jackasses. All sticks and elbows and knees. I just have no respect for them.
That said, we stunk.
Only bright spot ... had no idea how good Schultz can be.
He is what we thought Burns would be by now, imo. That game would have been 7-0 without Schultzie last night.
Going to be a tough year, that is finally sinking into my thick skull.
I can see periods of very good hockey, followed by weeks of ineptitude.
Just have too many guys in over their heads.

A couple more points.  They've obviously learned that Zid sucks donkey balls.  His icetime, especially in critical situations, is way down.  I expect to see it keep going that way as Johnson gets back.

6 Mil for Havlat?  Really????

Sheppard sucks.  Plain and simple.  He makes stupid turn overs, has no hands and doesn't use his size.  Another wasted DR pick.

Watching the game, I was wondering if with him being in his third year that we should have seen more improvement? I just don't see why he isn't in Houston

Ughhh...

What is with Havlat's flat-line demeanor?
It'd be ok if he played at least semi-inspired, but flat play with flat emotions =no thanks!

Backs-ouch! Glad we don't see that too often from him.

He would have to clear waivers Fargo for that to happen.  DR screwed the pooch on that one by playing him right away.

K, Havlat's problem right now is he's trying to make the perfect play instead of just shooting and crashing the net.  He had multiple possibilities last night and passed them up.  He's trying to be a 6 million dollar setup man.  That's why I questioned his $$.

In fact, he's about as close as the anti-Gaborik as  you could find.

I'm refering more to him not showing improvement more then to try and ship him out

Gotcha.  And, I totally agree.  He does not belong in the bigs right now.  I'm not saying he can't improve but he's hurting the team and should be in Houston but he can't.  Someone would take him off of waivers on potential alone.
