As Ed said .. good points tho, they do get second-rate coverage.
I will give ESPN credit, they televise the entire tourney, every game is available somewhere, and thats a lot of games.

We pushed the lead to 5-2, but left the bases loaded when Groenewegen hit into a FC on a sharp grounder to short. I don't understand softball so well, but it seems to me that Groenewegen has pitched a lot of innings so far. When does the arm go dead?

Only if she pitches 2-3 more days in a row.

FP pitching isn't nearly as hard on the arm

She'll pitch vs Alabama when that game starts.

They sure tried to give that game away.

Status: online 		A clear error by Partain IMO is called a single and what should have been an unearned run is charged. Runner may not have touched home plate. She tried twice and neither time was conclusive.

Status: offline 		After yesterday's umpiring & ESPN coverage debacle, I grudgingly checked in to the La Tech game today in the 6th. Only to see the network cut AWAY from our 1-1 nailbiter, loser-go-home game, to watch victory celebrations by other teams in one-sided games!

The Gophers took the lead 2-1 heading into the bottom of the 7th, had 2 outs on La Tech, 0-1 count on the batter. Two strikes away from surviving to take on the Tide once again! Excitement city, right? Guess what happened...yep. They cut away to a celebration. Evidently what happened was a missed 3rd strike by the HP ump, setting the stage for a full-count bomb to RF by their pinch hitter. Tie game. And ESPN missed it! Later they came on and showed the replay of the HR. Crap coverage. Crap umping (so I've read) in the 7th. Again. And again.

I gave up on the whole affair right there. Deleted my recordings, including the one set for the Alabama rematch. Never in my life have I seen such shoddy production.

As for the UM girls, I feel for 'em. The screwing by the NCAA seeding committee added a TON of pressure to the squad, who felt the weight of the world to prove everyone wrong about them & the Big Ten. Hence, the tentative at-bats throughout. Awful ending to a wondrous season. Shame on the NCAA. Shame on ESPN. Both of 'em simply SUCK.

But didn't help themselves at all by not scoring in either game vs them.

They came out smokin' first game.

Then it all fell apart. Barely made it past LA Tech 2nd time.

Now Groenewegen is done. Real leadership. Will be a different look next year.

Lots of young talent. have to step up.

Lindamann feasted on mediocre pitching. has to figure out how to hit well vs better teams.
