For those that are fans of the local college team, there will be three members of the Minnesota Golden Gophers that will be doing things at the Combine. Defensive backs Jalen Myrick and Damarius Travis will be there, and for some reason quarterback Mitch Leidner will be as well. I have no idea why. . .I mean, Leidner is awful. I know that Todd McShay had Leidner projected as a first round pick last May, but that really didn't work out as expected.

The tragic part of that? having to live through multiple seasons with the coaches convinced that boat anchor was worth something.

Yeah. Not sure what he's thinking but when your 6'8" TE runs a 5 yard out pattern, and you overthrow him by 9 yards, there's a problem there.

Fleck's offensive philosophy values a QB for his ability to pass over running. I don't see him trying to pass off the Mitch Leidners of the world as a QB.

Elijah Teague commits to Gophers. High 3 star DT out of IL, had offers from Oklahoma, Penn St, Wisconsin, and Tennessee, among others.

Of the 49 defensive backs who chose to run inside Lucas Oil Stadium on Monday, 22 blistered to at least one 40-yard dash clocked under 4.5 seconds. Minnesota cornerback Jalen Myrick led the way at 4.28, followed by UCLA cornerback Fabian Moreau (4.35) and Ohio State cornerback Marshon Lattimore (4.36).

I wonder if the 5'10" 205 might keep him down in the boards so we can grab him for our slot cb....

Kiper had him "day 3" which means 4-7 but that was before his posted time. Kid probably made himself some cash with that showing.

Daniel Faalele, a 6'9", 396-pound teenager from Australia, has landed in Florida. He barely knows what a first down is, but so what? His impact is already rippling through college football.

How in the blazes does a teenager get that massive?

I was watching the Big 10 Network's combine coverage and raving about how fast Michigan CB Myrick was. I can get screwing that up on ESPN, but on the Big 10 network?

Fleck turned himself in for a minor violation of talking to a Western Michigan player....apparently they can't even wish a former player happy birthday....

The University of Minnesota is planning to self-report a minor NCAA violation related to P.J. Fleck’s contact with one of his former players, athletics department spokesman Jake Ricker confirmed Tuesday.

Athletic director Mark Coyle has spoken with Western Michigan AD Kathy Beauregard to reassure her that Fleck isn’t recruiting his former players, Ricker confirmed.

“From my understanding, even if a coach sends a former student-athlete a text that even says ‘happy birthday,’ that’s a violation,” Coyle told the St. Paul Pioneer Press, which first reported news of the minor violation.

Ricker said Coyle would have no further comment.
