When will these kids learn that as a player on any men's Gophers sports team they have a huge X on their backs. They can't live the normal college life that the majority of their classmates get to live. They need to be squeaky clean and stay away from anything that could jeopardize their careers as Gophers. A simple argument with someone with a grudge or ax to grind can end their careers in a heart beat.

JFC, when the bleep are things ever going to go right for this program?

This is where I'm at

Keep seeing the rise of other programs
Almost everyone turns out a Top 10 in the country FB program
We never get there
Iowa does it
Wisconsin
Northwestern, hell even Purdue flirts with it
us? NEVER

and ...I hear your positivity guys ... good on you

matching the physicality and athleticism with OSU (even for one afternoon) is a HUGE upgrade
I'm not bailing on anything, just frustrated as hell.

Yup

The lack of experienced depth is glaring

Lose 2 guys, the d-backfield goes to crap just like that.

That's difficult to overcome

Freshman QB. Growing pains

Sucks.

d-backfield was down 3 guys. It's hard to compete with 18 year olds going against 21-22 year olds. The body matures quite a bit physically in those couple years.

Sure, there's almost always hope for next year. But when next year gets here, more than likely someone really important will get hurt and somebody else important will get in trouble and then we'll relegated to hoping for next year once again. Rinse and repeat.

Serious question. How much rope does Fleck have left? I don't give a shit about injuries. Every team has them. Our "decent" defense gave up plays of:

40 yard TD run on the first drive
59 yard TD run not much later
53 yard run by Martinez
26 yard run but time ran out 1/2 time

4 play, 72 yard TD drive in the 2nd half
37 yard run by Martinez - 14 play 72 yard drive for TD
67 yard pass play for a TD

The game is still going on folks. They were 0-6. This is just pathetic.

PJ has all of next year and into 2020, at least. Robb Smith should be fired this week (he won't be), and he certainly better not be here next year.

Fleck has plenty of rope as he should at this point. You can say other teams deal with injuries, but they aren't replacing their guys with one freshman after another. Most teams lose a starter, they have a veteran player waiting in the wings. With Faalele moving into the starting lineup last week, Fleck has 9 either true or red shirt freshmen starting. Those guys just aren't going to be able to hang in physically over a full game. Despite the score they were able to move the ball and string 22 unanswered points at one stretch. It's going to be ugly this year, but these guys will be physically more mature and stronger next year and be more developed for the experience.

659 yards and 10 plays of over 20 yards against an 0-6 team.

I'm not as hopeful as you guys at this point.

No, it's going to be ugly. That's the reality when a coach takes over a team that just graduated it's best players and had nothing in the pipeline to replace them. We have to grind out 3 years of Fleck before we start evaluating him. I hope the results are good because I am tired of starting over.

Would think you know how I feel about this program to detect sarcasm in comments.
I'll be sure to insert them as necessary.

I feel about as thrilled about this program as Jesser.

The light at the tunnel? There ain't one.

I knew it was sarcasm Ed. Just wanted to continue the conversation. Light at the end of the tunnel? I don't know why you insist on calling a hole a tunnel.

Liking the Purdue coach, a 2nd year coach with 4 straight wins.

Was left a couple of skills position players that don't get hurt.
