Totally took my eye off the game and when I checked back expecting it to be 5-0 it was 3-3. Five unanswered goals - wow.

Stunning .... Russia!
Wow
What a helluva comeback, when they could have easily quit.
So much for the collapse of Russian hockey (as predicted after the Olympic disaster)
Still, the most complete hockey players in the world, and have been for a long time, imo.
Wanna skate? They'll out-skate you. Wanna hit? They'll hit you all over the ice. Wanna fight? They'll knock your ass out.
Don't like it, but it's true. Canada can claim the game all they want, but most of my life, the best players in the world have most often come from Russia.
USA rebounds to take Bronze with a solid win over the tourney favorite, Sweden. Pretty good tournament for USA. Love this level of play.

Them Rowdy Russians ...

http://sports.espn.go.com/oly/olyhockey/news/story?id=5995103

I seem to remember a lot of the same behavior from Canadien women a couple years back.
We'll see how long it takes for this to calm down.
I'm thinking it will be awhile.

Final tonight doesn't feature us or Canada
That'll kill the ratings
Still great level of puck
Here's a question ..... Will Canada's national teams ever have to play on the road again? Ridiculous.
And yeah, I know, I know, that's where the fans are. Just funny how every huge game for them is on home soil.

I notice that Canada gets pretty stoked when they score too. That would be the competitive nature of sports.

I was meaning the CANADIENS were the ones taking scoring, in a non-medal game ... a litttttttttle too seriously yesterday.
They have a real problem with US.

Reds get the silver. But I think their junior program is going to take a financial hit and lose a lot of the gains they have made the past several years. The Russian economy is supported by the oil market, which is tanked. The KHL is already feeling some of the strain and the NHL will reap those benefits.

One of the funnest levels of play returned this week.
Love the Juniors.
Nice win over the home town Canadiens yesterday.
Not even the usual "yes we are screwing you openly with the refereeing, so what" attitude yesterday, could stop us from beating them.

The Wild prospects are tearing it up, and looking very very good.
Fletch has restocked nicely.

Our riches are almost embarassing at this point.
One or two of the best players on each of the top four squads (excluding Canada)
Erikkson-ek was outstanding
Our Russian was electric.
Kunin and greenway are forces.

Also worth noting; three countries (USA, Russia, Sweden) are captained by Wild prospects (Luke Kunin, Kirill Kaprizov, Joel Eriksson Ek).

I think I'd worry more about their on-ice performance.

Thrilling shootout win yesterday.
Can't top those games
Oshie II

Huge battle tonight.
Going to be tough to watch.
Canada's always damn good.
And damn-near unbeatable at home.
