We like to bitch, but man, the Lions ineptness is legendary
They have to be the biggest losers in sport, aren't they? Numbers-wise?
As in "never even winning a playoff game" type stuff?
Its almost impressive what they have done.

A guy like Patricia, you know he came in thinking "gonna make this NE west"
Uhhhhhh, its the Lions, bro.

And the Chicago QB thing is almost funny also.
Just can't get out of their own way.
Can see their D is over it, just have stopped competing like they can.

I realize Rodgers might be a decent guy and fun to be around for them over there, but my god that guy comes off as smug.
He got zero touches last night, no Bear touched him.
Not a sack, not a rush, not a hurry, and yet he's the star of the game, again.
Most of that should be credited to refs and OL, but what do I know.

Correction, he was barely touched once, went down and drew a 15 yard gift from the zebras.

Lions last glory was in the 50s
Man

Trubisky was the wrong guy picked.

The Soon-to-be-ex-GM was smarter than everyone else.

Too often in sports those type of people get theirs, sooner or later.

Akeem Hicks is their MVP obviously. They're terrible w/o him on the field.

And trading away a couple #1's for a Linebacker.

Defense in today's NLF is built around DL and CB's. That is because the league is a passing league. The rest of the defense should be built on the cheap IMO.

Funny/not so funny depending on which way you look at it "stat".

Announcer says "Vikings replace KJ Osborn with Beebe after just 14 yards total in punt returns on the year".

1st punt Beebe gets us 15 to shatter that stat by our standards. Yes, he got decapitated in the process, but way to go kid!

STILL amazed he hung on to that ball
Equally amazed he didn't squeeze the last one, but still ... impressive
Sherels STILL the best option available, for that very important position.

Maybe the hit pinned the ball to his body on that first one. Pretty crazy he held onto that one.

Second? Have seen this in HS ball far too often. Too far under it, hits the chest. Instant fumble.

And sadly

Sherels IS still the best option. Yikes.

And to continue to play the jackass about this Viking team, like I do ....
ANY other team in the NFL blocks that kick, they return it for the TD

Our guy?
Tackled immediately by their kicker
Rest my case, your honor
Some players are READY to make plays, some just think they are. We have a lot of those types.
Hesitaters. They break your heart.

Was just amazed they blocked it.

Then at the end when THEY blocked the PAT. I knew the guy was offsides from the start. Others? Not so much.

We have come up with some real athletes on the DLine
Pleasantly surprised.

Wonnum got smoked by their rb in the chest and knocked backward.

as noted in the game thread, how is that not lowering the helmet?

Apparently refs flagged someone in another game for just dropping the ball in front of the official. That crew should be fired.

That was embarrassing for the kid
Just incredibly bad timing for him
Came off throwing a 350 pounder off to the side, and was caught off-balance
You could see him thinking "I'm gonna pound you when my breath comes back you little ....."
Thats what I do like about some of our young guys. They don't like being pushed around or embarrassed. At least they react.

Btw, loved seeing Thielen at home Ed
Told my wife (who loves the guy) "see? reacting like a monkey on Mt Dew to Vikings football .... IS NOT weird"

Loved that he was clutching a football at the time
Not that I'd ever do that .....

Wonder how many times he yelled and scared the older of his 2 kids.

When wifey panned over he had that cautious little kid look at first then smiled cuz dad was happy.

He(Boyd) had to find the ball. He had to run straight sideways.

Picked it up without bobbling. Not sure what else he could have done.

The Kicker is an athlete. Got there in a hurry. Made the tackle.

If it was Bailey, that is an easy TD the way it worked out.

At least Boyd didn't get a penalty on that one
Its usually the only time he shows up
"penalty, MN #29"

Bet our kicker would have sprung to life like that.

Brady’s stat line of 345 yards and three touchdowns looked good and should temporarily silence the critics who say he can’t throw it 20 yards in the air anymore. But there were also two interceptions and a view from the bench as Patrick did what Tom used to, stifle an opponent one third-down conversion at a time.

“We stop the run, we stop the pass, we don’t stop the quarterback scramble,” Arians said.

That’s Mahomes. The talent is too great. The understanding of the game is too vast. He’s the best this league has going. He has started 46 games (playoffs included). The Chiefs have averaged a whopping 32.5 points in them.

“Very, very few guys I’ve ever seen in this league can backpedal 8 to 9 to 11 yards in the pocket and throw a dime 25 yards down the field,” Arians said. “He has an unbelievable skill set … and he can read the defense as he does it.”

Brady is still pretty good, amazingly good considering his age. Beating Mahomes and the Chiefs requires near perfection though. Brady and the Bucs know that. Brady knew it two seasons ago, when somehow he and the Pats managed to do it.

Great stuff from the Bucs/KC game
Its fun to watch the past best, and the present best, duke it out.

Mahomes made the one throw he had to at the end of the game to kill the clock

First quarter was video game stuff. Inbetween a mixed bag.

Bucs have had several games they've started worse-than-Vikings slow. Multiple straight 3 and outs. They've rallied in some, not in others. If they start games better the rest of the way, they'll score a lot of points.

I hate to say this, but I think I could have completed more than one pass as an NFL quarterback. I had much higher hopes for a guy that starred at QB in high school and played a couple years at the position with Wake Forest.

Right with ya Matt

Come on dude.
Don't know which was more pathetic, a real NFL team unable to field a QB, or playing and letting him attempt 2.
At least have some fun with it, if you are that unprepared.

IMO

Fangio's time is short in Denver

Big John wants a winner like when he played

If one needs to go there, it's Elway.

After winning the Superbowl, he's chosen two head coaches, both have stunk. He signed a bad QB to a big contract, drafted two Paxton Lynch and Drew Lock (ok, the jury is still out on Lock but still it's not like he's lighting up the universe). and really hasn't given the coaches anything to work with talent wise. Fangio deserved his shot but you can only make so much lemonade when the lemons are rotten.
