I'd rather have AI ref's than this bullshit.

It's good that the refs have a sharp eye to catch 5 PIs to set up Rams first downs, it's too bad they missed an obvious facemask in the end zone.

Even the defender as he was walking away was shaking his head knowing he was getting called for a 15-yard face mask.

Who csres honestly. KOC is looking in over his head. Our draft pick can't get on the field. Darnold holds the ball too long. Etc

The Vikings can lose on their own merit, just call the obvious facemask penalty, and let the Vikings find their way of losing, at least make it appear legitimate.

They showed no sign after the scripted plays that they could get into the endzone.

I guess when Sam Darnold is your QB, and the other team might be the preferred winner, an obvious facemask in the end zone at a crucial point in the game can be missed.

The offense should be the least of our worries.

Gilmore looks like he is 60 years old. And Murphy is Murphy.

Throw Moreau or the Arkansas rookie out there. It can't be any worse.

It should be but they scored a whole 6 points after the first 2 drives.

I'm glad we wasted all those picks to see Turner not do anything.

It's too early to give up on him. He's coming back from an injury.

True. But there is young talent on the offense.

We have old has beens in the secondary. Smith and Gilmore should be on a pitch count. They are too old to play virtually every snap.

Question for anyone.

Can you drop kick an onside kick and sky it and then be able to be the 1st ones to catch it? Is it physically possible to do it?

Obviously we had to let the Rams touch(first) the sky ball we punted.

I still maintain the longer a qb is with KOC the worse they get. Don't get me wrong the scripted plays looked amazing. After that it's been horrible lately. Darnold seems to be just getting more indecisive.

I don't know if Darnold is being told to push the ball downfield but I would think we would have some 6-7 yarders available to him when he has a lot of time.

Maybe Hockenson helps in this area.

Refs press conference.

They said no one had a good look at the facemask. Ref behind play was looking right at it.

Even dumber is that they can't review it. They give a ton of latitude for reviews on other types of plays in an attempt to guard against human error (multiple camera angles for a catch or touchdown review). Why not this case? I understand it has always been this way, but have never understood why. The first use of replay was in 1986....nearly 40 years ago. The current system was put in place in 1999. It's not like they don't have the camera angles. We saw about three different looks when it happened, and all were obvious.

Making some things non reviewable allows the refs some control over the outcome.

If you were supposed to make sure the Rams won, and you had already made a few biased calls of PI to keep Rams' drives going, would you notice the facemask penalty to give the Vikings a chance to tie, and then you might also have to make sure the Rams got a TD in OT, or would it at that point just be easiest to ignore the facemask, Rams get safety, game over.
