The Brandel "holding" call was a huge play. IMO, he didn't hold him. He just pushed him to the ground. TD off the board.

It was actually impressive of the Vikes to hang in there with a healthy Philly, shitting down Barkley, and not getting destroyed by Philly's DL and Fangio's schemes.

The Vikings were also screwed on plenty of earlier calls and no calls, but the main one was the miss on Cashman getting held, it would have completely changed the momentum, and I think the Vikings would have won this game.

KOC is improving, 2 or 3 years ago, the Vikings would have lost this game by 30 points.

Philly was 19th in points. 21st in yards.

They had 3 INTs and 9 Sacks in 6 games (1.5 of those sacks were from the retired Za'Darius Smith). They had 1 sack from a DE currently on their roster.

Their DLine is garbage this year and they manhandled us all game.

Entering this game, Hurts had the third worst QB rating vs zone coverages and the worst QB rating specifically against cover 2 - which the Vikings had been playing at a league-high rate.

Team finding out what happens when you have to rely of FA to fill a team

Was and SF had enough of Allen and Hargrave.

Fools gold to think theyd be difference makers

Philly had a couple of bad games going into this one, and I believe they had an important defensive lineman return for this game.

Philly winning with their offense was the preferred storyline, they didn't want the crowd noise combing with Flores's schemes and some great Vikings defenders being the story for this is me.

The Vikings already have a great crowd advantage, add in a great scheme by Flores, and some great defensive players, and the Vikings can take over a game against quality opposition, and the NFL doesn't want that, they don't want the Vikings having that sort of advantage.

So you get opposing teams getting away with massive holds, until Vikings players complain all game about the non calls. Then the refs give the Vikings a holding call in the oppositions OL in the 3rd quarter, but not with the game on the line in the 4th quarter.

It's also a non call on holding Cashman in a game at Philly, in Minnesota it's also a non call.

Remember last year there was a game where the Vikings got a defensive TD taken away because of some made up call quickly responding to the fact that the Vikings could get a quick defensive TD, and get back into a game where they trailed.

The refs didn't bear us.

Wentz beat us.

Our O-Line beat us.

KOC beat us.

The non call on the obvious hold of Cashman was the key to the game.

Period.

The Vikings weren't going to win the game with their defense, but I agree that good QB play could have won the game for the Vikings.

They don't want you winning the game with your defense, but great QB play is allowed to win the game.

Wentz needed to not throw the early INTs that dug a whole, or he needed to make plays to score in the 4th quarter.

Maybe a seasoned McCarthy or Brosmer wins this type of game.

I didn't want to play the Eagles coming off of 2 losses.

Should the Eagles rise up and play their A game, this could be an embarrassing loss for the Vikings.

I was tempted to drive down to Iowa and lay down a bunch of money on the Eagles, money line, not giving up any points.

But when a bet seems too easy, it many times goes the other way. This could be an entertaining game that could go either way. Betting the Eagles would be the safe bet, betting on the Vikings would take a lot of guts.

Bummer for you not taking the 'safe' bet with a 'bunch' of money

It would have been great to make some money on the Eagles, but would have been sweating that bet. I made some good money betting on baseball this season.

Had the hold on Cashman been called, the Vikings probably win, and then I would have lost the bet. I don't like bets that end up being so close.

A couple of years ago, this would have been easy money betting on the Eagles, but KOC and Flores have improved and made this a close game, despite mediocre to poor QB play from Wentz, and some poor ball tracking by Rodgers.

Word on the street is it was the key to the game.

Nevermind two-pick Wentz, the horrid pass D, and KOC being KOC.

I just read an article that talked about the Brandel "hold", and a play where an Eagles OL clearly moved well before the snap and it wasn't called.

But I agree that the non call on the hold on Cashman was the clear turning point, that likely would have swung the game in the Vikings favor.

Holy crap. you can't expect the defense to save your ass all the time. They were balling with the exception of some bad coverage decisions.

Wentz is not the answer. Wounded duck passes ill advised passes, intentional grounding (he should have known better), Terrible interceptions, when your first read is wide open and you don't throw it to him, When you throw a really inaccurate short pass to addison where he would have walked into the endzone. I will give him some credit for the grit, but jeepers he did as much to cost us this game as he did to try to bring us back.

Blake Brandel...terrible snap and a TD reversing holding call...

Officiating. What a clusterfuck that was. Total screwjob on Hockenson (no)catch.

On the bright side Keashall was nailing it. Jordan Mason continues to ball.

Addison is a stud in his own right.

I have nothing else to say. The Eagles weren't that good yesterday, but the Vikings found a way to blow this chance to take them down.

1 for 6 or something like that in the redzone? No turnovers for the defense.

Just not a good day

The Eagles offense was maybe the worst in the NFL this year.
There was nothing good about that defensive performance

They made Dillon Gabriel look like a upper tier QB

That was not a catch. Not even that close really. They had a clear angle showing it.

Yep. The guys in the broadcast booth saw it. Their replay guru saw it. I saw it. Hock had his hands under it, but the ball also touched the ground. As TJ rolled to his back his hands came away from the ball and he regrabbed it. If his hands stayed on the ball, it would have been a catch. The regrab means he didn't control it after the ball contacted the ground.
