I'm good with those with the possible exception of keeping H. Smith 1 more year.

Now, who among the Viking's FA's are you attempting to resign?

PFF predictions on FA (basically taking a guess based on need):

18. DI DALVIN TOMLINSON
2023 team prediction: Cleveland Browns
Tomlinson is an intriguing free agent as a player coming off a two-year deal with the Minnesota Vikings, with whom he shifted from playing primarily zero- or one-technique to predominantly three-technique. Perhaps most importantly for Cleveland, Tomlinson has earned run-defense grades above 65.0 in every season of his career.
A defensive coordinator who likes to move his defensive linemen around and deploy them creatively could maximize Tomlinson’s diversity, and that description fits new Browns defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz to a tee.

23. CB CAMERON SUTTON
2023 team prediction: Minnesota Vikings
The Vikings really need to improve their secondary this offseason, and given that Brian Flores is their new defensive coordinator, they could target players familiar with his scheme, such as Sutton. While Flores didn’t work directly with Sutton in his lone year on the Steelers coaching staff, the overlap should help Sutton acclimate. Additionally, Sutton offers inside-outside flexibility, as he played most of his snaps at slot corner prior to 2021 and has now spent the last two years as the Steelers' top cover corner on the outside.

34. CB PATRICK PETERSON
2023 team prediction: Cincinnati Bengals
Peterson turned back the clock in 2022 and recorded one of the best years of his career, producing an 82.5 coverage grade, 66.8 passer rating when targeted and nine pass breakups. With Brian Flores’s heavy man coverage scheme coming to town, it’s likely that the 33-year-old Peterson won’t fit in their plans. Enter the Bengals, whose zone-heavy scheme would be similar to what he was running with the Vikings for most of his tenure there. He could complement Cam Taylor-Britt and form a nice trio with Mike Hilton rounding out the group.

I can tell you this. I saw Aaron Rodgers up close yesterday and he doesn't look like he is ready to retire.

Oh I am sure it has to do with them asking him to take a little less salary.....

The Minnesota Vikings have broken the free agency seal by reportedly agreeing to terms with tight end Josh Oliver. According to NFL Network's Mike Garafolo, Oliver and the Vikings have agreed to a three-year deal worth $21 million, including $10.75 million guaranteed.

Vikings signed CB Byron Murphy to a two-year, $22 million contract.
Murphy was one of the top corners on the market during this year's free agent cycle, and he'll now head to Minnesota to take the place of recent departure Patrick Peterson. The Vikings are in the midst of a massive overhaul on the defensive side of the ball, but Murphy is a step in the right direction as the team searches for a new identity. Murphy's coverage grades are down over the previous two seasons but the aggressive corner is still highly capable given the right defensive scheme.

Getting tough to find a weakness anywhere on their squad and they pick #6, 18, 48, 55, and 81 just in the first three rounds this year.

Yeah no kidding right? People think there's nothing to worry about. News flash - the Lions won eight of their last ten games last season including a convincing victory over the Vikings. They would have beat us twice if their coach would have just calmed down and played more ball control near the end of the game. They had us beat all game long but took too many risks near the end of the game.

Here's the thing that worries me most about the Lions - when I watch them play, even against the Vikings, I start to hope they will win. They're style is fun to watch and they've built a great roster. Dan Campbell and crew have done what Belicek always said he was doing. Paraphrase quote of Bill Beliceck, "I'm trying to build a team here not just acquire talent."

The Stafford trade was a win/win for both teams.

Now the Rams are happily paying the price while the Lions are starting to see some returns.

The odds makers in Vegas like the Lions next year as well:

Lions +135

Vikings +300

Bears +300

Packers +450

Those are odds to win the division

I find it a little strange the Bears are given the same odds as the Vikings to win the division.

The Bears had the worst record in the NFL, the Vikings won 13 games, and the Vikings got rid of Ed Donatell.

1. They tanked.
2. 13 wins were a fluke.
3. Schedule: we play Cinn, Phil, SF while they play Ari, Clev, Wash.

I think Vegas has it right, I might even favor them to have a better record than we will, but there are still a lot of variables to play out.

They still have a ton of resources, we do not.

But many times Vegas favors history, the previous season, winning teams, and not making a bottom feeder the favorite to win the division.

I like the Vikings chances at winning the division. The Vikings have a good head coach, and won the division last year with an historically bad, non-aggressive defense.

The Vikings now have an aggressive defensive coordinator, Cousins does fine in the regular season, and is now in a good scheme, his 2nd year in it.

May be a good idea to put a couple of bucks on the Packers at that number. Last I looked, Aaron Rodgers is still the QB until he isn't. If suddenly things change and he is back with the Pack, that number is going to change radically.
