This is up and running and the season is about to start. If you were in last year, the site still recognizes you as a participant so you don't have to sign up again. Newbies welcome.

Go to Yahoo Sports and find the group:

Survivors R Us

The password is:

govikes

Our ID# is 5765 9337.

Picks can me made or edited up until five minutes before the start of the first game of the week (so don't forget that there are Thursday games).

I got this e-mail from Yahoo once I reactivated the account. Odd that the Group ID# is different. I'm going to edit the first entry above to show this change.

Group ID# (9337) and the Password (govikes). Remember, it is the Group ID#, not the group name, that other people must use to join your group.

They're accepting picks at the site now and a few people have already gotten them in. Who is going to beat out defending champion Todd Mallett?

I didn't win last year.

Was the ultimate survivor the year before but what have I done for you lately?

Oops, then I guess I dissed whoever DID win last year. Perhaps that person will speak up and challenge us all to a duel.

I see what you mean. If you follow the tab that says "Groups" it doesn't get you anywhere. See if this link works:

Games are vicious to pick right now. I have no idea who half these teams are going to be.. at all.

I agree Ian. I took a bit of a stab in the dark, but I may change my pick before Thursday too.

There are 15 of us starting out the pool this season. Let's see who wears the genius cap THIS year.

Lynn are we limited to using teams just once. I am debating Philly or Detroit this week. If it is one and done I will go with Detroit. If a team can be used multiple times I will go with Philly. I couldn't find the rules at the site at least on first glance.

I'm going to take a risk and go with Detroit this week. Keep more options open for later.

Yep - you can only use a team once, so that plays a big part in the strategy. I like to save some of those "sure thing" teams (if there is such a thing) for later in the season and look for those iffy teams early on that happen to have a favorable match-up.

But don't listen to me - I've never made it much past the halfway point of any season.

I'm playing to win the whole thing. If that causes me to lose in the first week so be it.

Boy, five of us picked Philly and five picked Chicago for this first weekend. This could be a good old fashioned masacree.

I didn't look yet.

That could have been ugly.

A little ugly for 5 people still.
