Wow,  Absolutely dominating performance by Lesnar last night.  That right in the first round was brutal.  Congrataltions Brock, looks like you have quite the MMA career ahead of you.

I hope you don't mind that I edited the title of your thread to spell "Brock" right.  "Borck" looked kind of cute, but ...

I didn't see the fight but they were talking about it all week on KFAN in anticipation.   MMA is definitely NOT my thing, but I appreciate the kind of work that Lesnar has done to get himself to this point and I wish him all the best.  I'm glad to hear he did well.   I assume from your words that he won his fight?

Yeah,

Not only did he win, he absolutely dominated Herring.  A lot of people didn't really give him much of a chance and some claimed that it was an insult to Heath Herring to have to fight Brock.  They thought he deserved a better opponent.  There were several predictions that Herring would beat him and Lesnar would quietly fade from the sport.  By the end of the match they were commending Heath calling him a warrior for lasting all three rounds with Brock.

Lesnar made a statement loud and clear. Imagine what he will be like when he actually learns the sport. VERY IMPRESSIVE.

How did the other fights go?  I understand that there's another fighter from Minnesota.

Is there a man on the planet you'd less like to "have a fight" with?
One of my best friends grew up with Lesnar and has scary tales about him.
Ever seen anyone rip a door of a brand new pickup off it's hinges in anger?
It is fortunate he was raised with a conscience, or there would be dead people littering the road he has walked.
And oh, btw, people are idiots. He actually had to stop going out publicly, because of all the "challenges" he would get.
That's a great thing to have on a resume' I guess ..... "nearly killed by Brock Lesnar one drunk night".

Florian outworks Huerta

Lightweight Kenny Florian used a high work rate and mobility to earn a unanimous decision over Roger Huerta.

Roger Huerta, left, found himself on the wrong end of Kenny Florian's fists for the better part of three rounds.

Florian, an analyst on ESPN.com's "MMA Live," showed off his improved footwork and boxing skills to avoid Huerta's strikes and when the opportunity presented itself, Florian took Huerta to the ground where he landed several hard strikes. And when Florian attempted a rear-naked choke attempt Florian escaped it.

Florian continued to frustrate Huerta in the second by using footwork to avoid strikes, while relying on his 4-inch reach advantage to deliver jabs and a few hard right hands.

"I know how hard it is to fight Roger Huerta," said Florian, who improved to 10-3-0. "I trained very hard for this fight.

"I didn't want to get into a brawl with him. He is strong and technical with his kicks. He's tough as nails."

Florian completed the shutout (30-27 across the board) with a strong third round in which he caught Huerta (22-2-0) with several strikes to the head.

I was disapointed with Huerta, I thought he really came out flat and never picked it up.

Brock is just going to dominate with time, as long as he stays motivated.

If Brock Lesner gets his own thread under "Former Vikings" we all should.  We've worn Viking Jerseys way more then he ever did

I make a couple posts on MMA after some of the noteable fights, like Rampage, or the IceMan, or whatever, and there's no real place to stick em. Brock won't fight again until December or later, but there are going to be a couple good fights before then. So this thread will prolly be dead by then....

Which means I'll probably stick another couple in in the general threads and tick everyone off...

I really want to see GSP and Silva lock up, I think that would be huge.

I'll bet Toby or Sammy would be happy to start a thread on MMA.

Go ahead and make a thread, E.

I'm going to sticky instructions on "how to not look at threads you don't want see" for everyone.

I'm not sure how this is being taken.... I didn't know I could create threads, but if you really want me to, where do you recommend? In the lounge area?

I was fine with making a couple posts after the big fights in the general vikes, but I'm taking this to mean that's a no no?

Thread away dude.  I think it's comical how people bitch about certain threads being created.  Freakin ignore them if they bother you that bad.

Lesnar for the Championship Saturday night. Can he be beat by a 45 year old much smaller man? This one could be over in a minute or a huge suprise.

Who we all got?
Couture/Lesnar
Its the ultimate "experienced warrior vs inexperienced phenom"
Lesnar is one of the scariest men in the world to me, but I think one guy isn't afraid of him ... Couture.
I think he truly believes his experience will carry him. In this case, I gotta agree.
I think we see another match where Lesnar loses by some kind of hold or technicality that his strength can't overcome.
I'm not very knowledgable about the sport, but this match-up intrigues me.

I think in stand up.. Lesnar wins by shear brute strength...  If Lesnar tags Couture a couple of times in stnad up.. it's gonna be a short fight, the power Lesnar delivers and the size of his fist and the force he gets behind them is brutal.

Couture might try ground and pound, but Lesnar is no slouch on the mat and his shear bulk will be an advantage...It's gonna be very tough to hold Lesnar down on the mat and not become exhausted trying to hang on to a behemouth.

Couture will have to get a sumission hold or mistake from Lesnar to beat him... straight up or on ground skills.. I pick Lesnar

Shouldn;t have doubted you, Brock.
Pretty damn impressive run to the title.
The guy is a beast.
Pure and simple.

Gave some great interviews after. Hard not to like the guy.
Very respectful kid. Knows he is getting a special opportunity and appreciates it.
Said he was up to 275lbs by fight time.
Wayyyy too much for Couture to overcome at 220.

Fill it!

Brock Lesner could have played in the 70s.

Football hall of fame-Randall McDaniel the best guard to ever play the game, should already be in. I wish the Veterans would have done right by Jim Marshall.
