David, I agree with you for the most part, especially with firing Priefer, but not sure on Carlson. Daniel Carlson finished 16–17 and made all his PATs for Oakland. Don’t talk to me about pressure kicks - the kid was kicking to save his career every time he went out there. If speilman and zimmer are safe for the love of god let’s at least get rid of Priefer. Of course I agree. To me the pressure of being released after 2 games and having to prove yourself was no easier than starting off your career hoping to make a name for yourself. I see at as he passed the 1st test, 1st level with Oakland. Yes, there is pressure to make a team, but the pressure is still higher for a game winner, then game winners late in the season for a good team, then playoff game winners. A) making any FG B) making a game winning FG C) making a game winner late in the season for playoff team D) making game winner in playoffs So he didn't pass level A with the Vikes, but did with Oakland. He hasn't passed the B level yet. He passed the A level possibly motivated to prove others wrong, or probably just to save his career. Priefer is likely the reason why Carlson never even achieved level A with the Vikings, but maybe not. We will see if Carlson keeps his job next year. It's possible this was just a spike to save his career, and that he regresses next year and is out of the league by midseason, or sooner.
