He sucked, they didn't offer him another contract because he sucked.

I want to give David F. his props. He's been correct on several of his predictions/opinions, including this one, Harvin and others.

So Priefer is gone and it was such big news I just heard about it now. I am sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo excited yawn. This will make about 0% difference in the Vikings season.

Only took 4.5 years from being posted 8 years total with the Vikings. Now he has the same position with the very up and coming Cleveland Browns. What is the average coaching tenure in the NFL?

I give Priefer a grade of a D.

He was horrible, every kicker got worse, but I have seen worse special teams, and his job may have been saved by talented special teams players like Sherels and Patterson.

Good riddance to Priefer, hopefully the new special teams coach isn't an F, hopefully he is grade A.

Well that sounds pretty enlightening, but I am suggesting it should either be deleted for irrelevancy, or since there is no thread for the new coordinator, maybe it wouldn't be a bad idea in this thread to open some discussion about him and the special teams, and whether or not we believe he will be an improvement over Preifer.

We have a lot of threads that just sink to the bottom from lack of use, which is the same result as locking it. If you want to start a new thread about the new coordinator - go ahead. That option is open to all posters.

Priefer went, but it was of his own volition as he took the same job with the Cleveland Browns. No mention of poor performance from the Vikings or firing by the Vikings.

I don't see a need for a separate thread for the new special team's coordinator, as right now, I don't see discussion of him taking up a large space, or distracting from other Viking talk in the main thread.

Like Priefer lucked out with getting Patterson, I think Priefer lucked out that the Browns got a kicker that will give him some job security, for awhile.
