The Dallas at Green Bay game: Green Bay got some calls and non-calls in the 3rd quarter to put them ahead, making it likely they win. But it was as though they didn't want GB to win by 16, or even 23. It appeared that they preferred Dallas close it to 8, or have a good chance at doing that, by calling multiple questionable hits to the QB as roughing the passer, and some holding or PI calls that weren't much. But Dallas still failed to even close the game to 8. The Commanders trailed the 49ers on Monday night, and were give a few PI or holding calls that weren't much, to extend their drives, and gave them a chance to win, possibly to win on the road after trailing by 7 or more in the 4th quarter, for the 1st time in Jayden Daniel's young career. They failed, but were given the chance to do so. The results don't always yield a win, or don't always result in the dog covering the spread, but sometimes that does in fact occur. It keeps us guessing, and has us interested in what could be a fantastic finish, which is good for viewership. In addition to the Vikings, I also watch several other games, or listen to them. I will hear home announcers for a dog saying something like, we probably didn't deserve that call (in the 4th quarter), but we'll take it. Rarely do I hear the favorite being the benefactor of cheesy calls, which allows them to beat the dog by an even larger amount, unless there was a very large amount bet on the dog. An example would have been, if GB being ahead by 16 in the 4th quarter, and Dallas is given a questionable call that isn't much, of PI or holding on their 2ndary, to extend a GB drive. Or if while Washington was trailing SF in the 4th quarter, SF on offense is given a ticky tacky of PI or holding on the Washington 2ndary, which keeps a SF drive going. This would make it more likely SF wins by more, and makes it a strong likelihood Washington doesn't have a chance to make it an exciting finish.
