The sad thing is it really isn't like that.

Even before the crazy run at the end of last year, this town supported the hell out of the Knights. Same thing with their slow start this year. I can't even count how many non-sports fans I know that hav been converted just by having a "home team".

It feels like the Raiders think its still Vegas in the 1970s, while the Knights understand its 2018.

They fired their head coach midseason when they only had two wins IIRC. Williams was interim. They could have hired him permanently but in the end it was starting Mayfield and the OCs work with him that changed the tone. Williams was a failure before as HC and half a good season probably shouldn't guarantee a job. Other coaches are interested in the job with a good young QB lots of talent on D, and a hungry fanbase. Bruce Arians has indicated he might be interested if Cleveland is. I don't think this decision is the worst at all.

Cleveland finally emerged from the shitpile it was in. By many accounts, it is one of the more sought after coaching jobs this offseason over the Cardianls, Broncos, Jets, Dolphins, Bengals.... Only the Packers job (with a certain HOF level QB) is more enticing IMO.

The Cardinals job was probably the worst one available. Their cupboard is pretty bare, and apparently their money situation isn't that good either to fix things anytime soon. They'll likely be in rebuild mode for years to come. Meanwhile, they're in a division that's become a lot more competitive. They were willing to offer McCarthy the option to be GM/Coach, and he turned them down.

I'm told it's supposed to be 5 degrees and snowing on Sunday in Kansas City. Why can't they postpone the #AFCChampionship game? Fans will still come out & people will still watch on TV if they play it a few days later. It makes no sense to play in intolerable conditions.
