Lynn G. -> 2016 Survival Pool (7/28/2016 10:54:21 AM)

Up and running for the new season! If you were in last year you should be receiving a note from me to let you know that all is well and we're letting everyone play again. [:D]

And we're always welcoming new players. Last year was a goofy one - - - almost the entire field was eliminated by the second week, so we pulled an audible and restarted the whole thing in week 3.

Yes, we have the power to do that.

Karl Juhnke -> RE: 2016 Survival Pool (8/29/2016 8:16:21 AM)

Hey can I get in on this?

What's the entry fee? Like 10 grand?

Lynn G. -> RE: 2016 Survival Pool (8/29/2016 9:48:12 AM)

Yes, it's 10 grand and if you wait by your computer I'll send you instructions for wiring it to my bank account.

Oh wait - I just noticed the date. This is the day that everyone can join for free. Lucky you. I'll send you the pool invitation.

Lynn G. -> RE: 2016 Survival Pool (8/29/2016 9:54:29 AM)

And by the way, I'm willing to extend the "free entry" deal to anyone else all the way up until the first game of the regular season. [:D] I'm such a good sport.

If you want to join this fun pool, send me your e-mail address via PM and I'll have the pool send you the official invitation.

Daniel Lee Young -> RE: 2016 Survival Pool (8/29/2016 10:26:34 AM)

im in.. and probably out by week 3 or 4.. again..

Lynn G. -> RE: 2016 Survival Pool (8/29/2016 10:30:46 AM)

I always get kicked out of the Survival Pool early. Those "sure things" almost never pan out for me. [:D]

Did I see that you've already made your picks for the regular pool for week one Dan? I can't actually see picks, of course, but the commissioner note told me that you and one other have already picked! Talk about being ahead of the curve.

Todd M -> RE: 2016 Survival Pool (8/29/2016 10:52:02 AM)

The group name and password?

Todd M -> RE: 2016 Survival Pool (8/29/2016 2:05:19 PM)

Is it the same as it always is? Survivors R Us - password go Vikes?

If it is all I have to do is remember my yahoo login....sigh...again...

Lynn G. -> RE: 2016 Survival Pool (8/29/2016 2:39:15 PM)

Yes to the name and yes to the password.

If you can't find it, I should be able to just send you a fresh invitation if you give me your e-mail address in a PM.

Lynn G. -> RE: 2016 Survival Pool (9/6/2016 9:26:35 AM)

It appears that they have changed our group ID number again from last year's. Now I'm clueing in that they must change it every year.

Our group ID# (for you to find our pool) is 1048.

So try this link:

Todd M -> RE: 2016 Survival Pool (9/6/2016 9:46:52 AM)

Lynn G. -> RE: 2016 Survival Pool (9/6/2016 10:02:51 AM)

Okay - now let's see you last![:'(]

Guest -> RE: 2016 Survival Pool (9/7/2016 9:18:29 AM)

Send me the invite too. You have my yahoo email.Thanks Lynn.

Lynn G. -> RE: 2016 Survival Pool (9/7/2016 9:40:04 AM)

Just sent it.

Anyone else? We have about a dozen participants so far.

Tim Cady -> RE: 2016 Survival Pool (9/7/2016 10:27:35 AM)

I am in! At first the old Yahoo was giving me attitude! Then I went into CBS, thank goodness for cookies on my work computer because I have no idea what that sign in or past email is.

Lynn G. -> RE: 2016 Survival Pool (9/7/2016 10:40:06 AM)

I can relate. Even though we've been doing this for at least a decade, every year that I go back to get the league running again I have to jump through some new hoop and perform some magic trick to get back in. And I apparently am a slow learner because I just now figured out that they assign a new group ID# every year. Doh!

Karl Juhnke -> RE: 2016 Survival Pool (9/7/2016 12:40:50 PM)

I'm in.

Tim Cady -> RE: 2016 Survival Pool (9/7/2016 8:35:49 PM)

I hear you Lynn! Thanks for the extra effort.

Todd M -> RE: 2016 Survival Pool (9/8/2016 8:24:14 AM)

My user name last year was 'forgetspasswordeveryyear' or something like that. Made it one that I wouldn't forget for sure. Forgot it.

I too have to dance to get in every year.

But it's fun. I expect to have another perfect year.

Daniel Lee Young -> RE: 2016 Survival Pool (9/8/2016 11:54:06 AM)

you are an author.. you get an exemption for pencil to paper stuff.. but only because you were born before the invention of "notepad" or word.... or the computer... well maybe not that old.. they had big honking room sized computers in the 50's.. didn't they?.. senility is setting in..

Not exactly on THIS topic, but I talk to a lot of authors all the time and there seems to be a recurring theme - many of us still enjoy that sensation of putting pen to paper. I almost always do my initial notes and my outline with pen and paper. And science has even shown that when students take notes the old fashioned way - with a notepad and pen - they retain the information better.

I'm about to leave for a non-profit workshop and I have my spiral bound notebook with me.

Todd M -> RE: 2016 Survival Pool (9/11/2016 3:06:36 PM)

Survived!

Here's hoping Seattle blows it for a bunch of you! Punished for taking the consensus pick.
