Duane Sampson -> RE: Goal Line Blitz Football (5/21/2008 7:21:48 AM)

I'm in, position 368. Not too bad, really. People will drop off and teams will get sold and there is an expansion coming. I took ANY region also, that might make a difference. We can go over to Indonesia and kick azz. [&:]

Toby Stumbo -> RE: Goal Line Blitz Football (5/21/2008 7:39:54 AM)

Woot!  I may add myself too just to see where I would be. [8|]

Toby Stumbo -> RE: Goal Line Blitz Football (5/21/2008 7:52:47 AM)

I'm at 185 on the list.  We'll see how fast they go, I may remove myself if they move fast.

Steve Archer -> RE: Goal Line Blitz Football (5/22/2008 8:53:42 PM)

Hey good news, I'm now a starting linebacker for my team. [8|][8|][8|]

I signed a 1 year contract with a CPU team. Do I have to wait till the contract runs out, before I can sign with a human team?

Todd M -> RE: Goal Line Blitz Football (5/22/2008 9:07:19 PM)

Glad you're happy.

I've been benched after a couple of starts. [:(]

Toby Stumbo -> RE: Goal Line Blitz Football (5/23/2008 7:41:12 AM)

If you are on a CPU team you will alternate plays with the other players on your team so it matters not if you are #1 on the depth chart.  Also, you can be signed from a human team anytime, basically you are considered a free agent to human teams when on a CPU team.

You might want to think about getting on a human team asap. You make a lot more $$ when you're on a human team and when you get to level eight, you'll need $10,000 for equipment upgrades. But it might be best to wait till after this season is over before signing w/ a human team. Once the new teams are introduced there will be probably be a mad dash to sign players...

And I retract my earlier statement about money being useless.

Ian Joseph -> RE: Goal Line Blitz Football (5/23/2008 8:09:37 PM)

My guy got four carries for a whopping ten yards.  Makes me hate being on a team that I do not control.

Ian Joseph -> RE: Goal Line Blitz Football (5/24/2008 3:12:51 AM)

I just did some math.  For me to boost my guy into an all world rookie monster, it is going to cost me 135.00 to buy the 20k flex points needed.  Is there a cap or limit to what I can do to a player his first season?

Steve Archer -> RE: Goal Line Blitz Football (5/24/2008 7:58:23 AM)

If I buy flex points, can I use them to boost my player attributes?  Or can that only be done with skill points?

How do you figure you need all those flex points?

You can add custom equipment and get 6 skill points from that. Costs 600 flex points. Otherwise, you need skill points. You can also buy "boosts" at three times a season. You should do that now before season 2 ends. Then it's too late.

You can only boost (level) 3 times per season with Flex Points so for a RB it would cost 900 FP's per season.

At level 8 you can add a +1 bonus to one of your skill trees (special abilities) for 300 Flex Points as well.  This is the only thing worth paying Flex Points on custom equipment if you ask me but at a very high level (30 maybe) it might be worth adding the 6 skill points for 100 Flex Points each.  After 48.3 (or thereabouts) it takes 2 skill points to add one to a skill and it keeps going up.

Question, Toby-

What effect does equipment have on skill points after 49 or 50? For instance, can I unequpip all my equipment before spending skill points to get my guy under 50, or do they count equipment as part of your skill number when determining when you need to spend two points? And after 50, does it take 2 equipment points to raise your skill 1 point? If it still takes 1 equipment point to raise 1 skill point after 50,  I'm thinking it might be worth it to sell all my equipment and replace it with points for the skill over 50. Is that correct? (I'm trying to get my WR to 70 Speed at around LVL 13 or 14 is the reason I'm asking[;)], he'll be right at 50 after my next level-up (Lvl 8 )

EDIT: I think I figured out the answer to my question myself. I notice that when you add skill points, the numbers they show you don't include your equipment. So I'm assuming that I wouldn't need to unequip my equipment before spending skill points, correct?

Ahh.. I was under the impression that I could use flex points to run up the player's attributes and that his speed, agility and such had nothing to do with his level.

Nah, a level boost takes your guy up a level and gives you 5 skill points. It cost the same amount of Flex points per boost as your player cost to create. For a HB, 1 level boost=300Fps. You can boost 3 levels each season (either all three at once, or at different points in the season) Your XPs stay right they were...

And you should definitely boost 3 levels before the end of this season. And also have 300-600 extra Flex points available for when you get to level 8 so you can upgrade your custom equipment (if you have any).

Toby Stumbo -> RE: Goal Line Blitz Football (5/24/2008 6:22:44 PM)

You are right about the equipment Mark.

When boosting, remember that the lower your level the faster you gain XP so boosting early isn't always a good idea but since it's about the end of the season nows the time.  Next year I would wait though.

Steve Archer -> RE: Goal Line Blitz Football (5/25/2008 8:25:03 AM)

Brought some flex points and got my linebacker to level 8.  Should go to level 9 soon. [8|][8|][8|]

Darn it Toby & Duane you're getting me hooked on this game. I curse you both. [&:][&:][&:][&:]

Yeah, it's addicting [&:]

Don't forget to upgrade your equipment!!!

Toby

Where are you on the waiting list?

Toby Stumbo -> RE: Goal Line Blitz Football (5/25/2008 4:18:26 PM)

Duane Sampson -> RE: Goal Line Blitz Football (5/25/2008 5:34:23 PM)

Better than my 711 [&o]

Toby Stumbo -> RE: Goal Line Blitz Football (5/25/2008 10:47:01 PM)

You're moving down pretty fast man!

[:-]

Mark Duda -> RE: Goal Line Blitz Football (5/26/2008 1:18:01 AM)

I hopped on the waiting list just for giggles (not really expecting or planning on getting a team). Started out at 7 hundred something... as of 5 minutes ago, I'm 900. I'm thinking Toby is our only hope if we want a team this decade.
