Who knows but this franchise has never won it all despite being a very successful franchise overall. That said- if or when the Vikings do this- I think it will be surreal. Well, Spiels did say something insightful yesterday after all besides his presser ramblings... “When you look at any free agent, usually coming into their second year is when they take off,” Spielman said. “The other thing that I think will be a huge benefit for Kirk Cousins is bringing in a Kubiak and a Stefanski now working with Kirk for a year. Understanding what his strengths are, what his weaknesses are and let’s design a scheme … that utilizes the things he does well.” Mike Shanahan said recently that the Vikings need to improve other spots on the offense to get the most out of Cousins. When you are talking off the cuff – unless you are Mike "this is everything I know on the subject" Tice – it doesn't hurt to play things closer than looser. Its better to be boring than damaging.

Zimm gets a pass because he was preceded by the likes of Chillydog, Frazier and Meat Head... I have no problem with Zimm at moment, he has a plan as the HMF in charge he and Spiels have tied themselves to that plan and system for next two years... I myself would prefer to see something more on track with 2017 than 2018 for this season... Will be interesting and I will be right there with my opiniions when the season gets going... Reiff had his struggles last year for sure. He certainly didn't earn his contract. I am assuming his injury problems and playing alongside Compton didn't help – but I don't know that for a fact. I think he was a decent player for the Lions, so maybe last year was the outlier. People have thrown a lot of scenarios around in here but I do think your Reiff+Elflein+O'Neill+Draft Choice+FA is how it will work out. More than two new starters ... I'm not seeing it.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter on Thursday, Minnesota looked into trading the young linebacker last offseason. Barr reportedly wanted to play for a team on the west coast, but the Vikings were unable to find a deal that was satisfying enough for them to pull the trigger. Shefter also mentioned that he would be surprised if the linebacker re-signed with Minnesota this year. Barr has started 73 games since being drafted in 2014 -- I'd say that's relatively healthy as far as NFL players go.
