My guess is Rudy gets cut or significantly restructures (even if it means adding next year onto his deal).

I doubt there are many teams that are willing (or able) to absorb the 7.6M cap hit by trading for him. Although I suppose a trade including a restructure is possible (that would be the only way I could see a team like NE consider it).

Watts signed today. I think that brings it down to Bradbury, Boyd, and Cutting. I'm confused about Boyd not being signed as it just doesn't make much sense.

Bruce Johnson -> RE: General Vikes Talk (5/3/2019 2:57:31 PM)

They are probably right up against the cap.

Only top 51 count against cap at this point so signing Boyd shouldn't have an impact.

Perceptions vary, I’ve had two Patriots honks tell me how much they’d love Kyle Rudolph playing with Brady,
Same with a couple Raider buddies of mine.

As we get to see Rudolph on a game to game basis moving at a glacial pace, and catching a few redzone TD’s. Many fan bases simply see him catch those TD’s on Sportscenter.

Re-structure probably makes sense, and am super intrigued with what Irv Smith can bring/ expose down the seams.

One of the more informative behind the scenes articles I've read in a while:

Some observations from Friday's rookie minicamp: -Bradbury worked exclusively at center, Samia at RG -Mattison lined up in the backfield, caught passes -Joe Berger stopped by for a visit -Jeff Badet, UDFA from last year, was on rookie camp roster but stood in hoodie on sideline

Bruce Johnson -> RE: General Vikes Talk (5/3/2019 6:23:45 PM)

takes: TE Bug Howard (UNC/AAF) and WR Landon Jones (Bemidji State) looked good. Also I probably noticed Jones more bc he was wearing #19

Samia is up to 311 pounds (from 297 at OU). Has been focusing on strength and size -- while naturally hoping to maintain athleticism

The receiving group looked good in today's highlights.

Every receiving play I'm like...yeah...better than Treadwell.

No way that guy rises with the talent we have. He will not be on the team come Sept.

Yhanks, for some reason THAT video won't play for me on Vikings.com, youtube worked though

In 2018, quarterback Kirk Cousins chose the Vikings over the New York Jets. Last March, linebacker Anthony Barr reneged on a commitment to join the Jets to re-sign with Minnesota.

Now, another player has revealed he spurned overtures by the Jets to remain with the Vikings.

After spending last season as a rookie on Minnesota’s practice squad, wide receiver Jeff Badet was courted in January by the Jets. But the Vikings were so intent to keep Badet that a source said they gave him a $75,000 signing bonus in addition to his $495,000 base salary on a futures deal to re-sign.

They really liked him and Hercules...we didn't see much of Hercules but Badet could replace Alderick.

Bruce Johnson -> RE: General Vikes Talk (5/4/2019 11:45:20 PM)

I got goosebumps watching the video. I kind of identify with "meat and potatoes" kind of guys. He's given his whole working career to the Minnesota Vikings and hasn't seen a Super Bowl championship. Still he's hopeful that it will happen soon. That really speaks to all of us.
