Sucks only getting one point out of that game.

The rule is clear. There is no way that goal should have been allowed

It didn't take replay to see his forward progress had stopped and he was going backwards when he shot the puck.....F*** the NHL refs!

SoMnFan -> RE: Wild 2019/2020 Season (2/14/2020 8:21:12 AM)

Lost a point, but still played well I thought
Rangers are rolling and have a couple world-class talents.
Some nights the bounces suck
Two of the goals Stalock allowed he had nothing to do with.
The game tier late was the killer, Koivu once again had to move a puck 3 feet, to get it out of the blue, and he failed.
BB is looking foolish for overthinking his role.
Russo was like a terrier on a rat after the game about the second line, just wouldn't lay off.
Uhhh, start talking shit about some of the older guys too, Russo.

So good to see the FSN people switch over to "this is Stalocks team"
Well, except for the clownish Greenlay
"I'd like to see a shared goal from here out"
Good to see this team becoming the team of Foligno/Greenway/Ek/Fiala/Donato/Spurgeon/Soucy

TJSweens -> RE: Wild 2019/2020 Season (2/14/2020 8:29:26 AM)

If we are going to go with a "shared goal from here out", we might as well just go with NTG the rest of the way and get a higher draft pick. We ain't maken the playoffs with a shared goal.

BOUDREAU FIRED !!!!!

MDK -> RE: Wild 2019/2020 Season (2/14/2020 10:13:07 AM)

Seriously?

About time

Hopefully Saunders is next but Taylor just said his job is safe. Taylor knows nothing about BB.

The Twitter responses are mostly supportive of BB.

They must still think DOOOOOOBS is the greatest Goalie in the NHL

BB might be a nice guy but BB from the NFL isn't.

SoMnFan -> RE: Wild 2019/2020 Season (2/14/2020 10:33:19 AM)

Will be very interested to see who Guerin has in mind
He's been tight-lipped
All GMs have their "guy"

kevinemmer -> RE: Wild 2019/2020 Season (2/14/2020 10:37:04 AM)

If BB had stopped playing Dubes and #9 so much as the toilet was swirling, he'd prolly still have a job.

Guerin ain't messing around!

Mr. Ed -> RE: Wild 2019/2020 Season (2/14/2020 10:37:08 AM)

So you kept going back to Boudreau and the favoritisms that have been costing the Wild.

Guerin must have too

I take it this is a surprise?

That owner fella wants to win too, and has been quiet it seems.

Some of them probably still think Gardy should be running the Twins bece he won all those division titles is a fun guy to watch get mad and has wonderful post game pressers.

SoMnFan -> RE: Wild 2019/2020 Season (2/14/2020 10:46:20 AM)

Can't fire all the players
I like Bruce
But you can't keep forcing Koivu and Dubnyk on the ice and expect to keep your job
If management forced him to play them, then its on them, not Bruce
Org needs to get younger and they are working on it, one step at a time
I've liked all the changes lately
Got a few more to go, and then we can start building something NEW

Lynn G. -> RE: Wild 2019/2020 Season (2/14/2020 10:50:48 AM)

I was half expecting Boudreau might be fired at the end of this season, so I was only surprised at the timing. New GMs like to make a strong stamp on a team, and since Boudreau's team was flailing it made sense to fire him.

At times like this I always wonder what the new guys think. They just got here, like three days ago, and now the coach has been fired. It must feel kind of disorienting, although I know they all understand the business part of the game.

Now if only a couple of players had gotten stuck on the bottom of Boudreau's shoes on the way out. [;)]

SoMnFan -> RE: Wild 2019/2020 Season (2/14/2020 10:53:10 AM)

Dean Evason finishes year out
Gallant and Laviolette out there jobless
No, and hell no, please.

TJSweens -> RE: Wild 2019/2020 Season (2/14/2020 10:55:27 AM)

Things that were probably not lost on Guerin last night:

Even though the FSN boys put up a stat last night that Mikko was the only center who was losing face offs, BB continued to put him out there for every key face off. Seriously, Mikko was at 50% while the rest of them were 18-2 on face offs. At that point, Mikko had taken almost as many draws as the rest the team combined.

The pace of play grinding to a crawl when Mikko was out there.

The inability to escape the zone when Mikko was out there.

Mikko kicking the Rangers second goal into the Wild net.

Mikko unable to move a puck 3 feet before the tying goal.

I think he didn't wait because the Wild are only 3 points out of a playoff spot and Guerin didn't have any faith that BB would get them across the finish line.

Bruce Boudreau's wild tenure in Minnesota has come to an end.
GM Bill Guerin fired Boudreau on Friday, ending his four-season stint with the organization. Dean Evason, who was an assistant coach for Boudreau in Washington and then in Minnesota, will be named interim coach.

The timing of the firing this late in the season is curious. The Wild have surged as of late, winning seven of 11 games (going 7-3-1) to move within three points of a wild-card spot in the Western Conference. But Boudreau, 65, was in the final year of a contract that reportedly paid him over $3 million a season.
The coach went 158-110-35 with the Wild, making the playoffs in his first two seasons but losing in the first round in five games both times. In 13 seasons as a head coach with the Washington Capitals, Anaheim Ducks and the Wild, Boudreau is 567-302-115, having made the playoffs in 10 of those seasons.
Boudreau's time in Minnesota was a rarity for NHL coaches in that he coached for three different general managers. He was hired by Chuck Fletcher in May 2016, just eight days after being fired in Anaheim. He was kept around by GM Paul Fenton during his only year with the team. When Guerin was hired to replace Fenton last summer, he gave Boudreau a vote of confidence.
"I'm behind him 100 percent. He's a good coach that's been around this game a long time, he's won a ton of games, and I've got full confidence in him," Guerin said when he was hired.
Boudreau joins a collection of big-name, successful head coaches looking for jobs, including former Nashville Predators coach Peter Laviolette, former Vegas Golden Knights coach Gerard Gallant and former Toronto Maple Leafs coach Mike Babcock.

I forgot Babcock … OH HELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL NO!

Damn decent record, Bruce.
Thank you for some good hockey, and for losing the rest of your hair for us.
We ain't easy.
No one's figured it out yet, don't feel bad.

Like Lynn, I was thinking BB would be out after the season ended, but I'm not surprised it happened after the way last night ended. I saw the same OLD suspects out on the ice towards the end of the game, and that sealed the deal for getting rid of BB now. I think BB got to be a little too forgiving towards the vet's on the team and the extra rope he gave them ended up being his demise.

SoMnFan -> RE: Wild 2019/2020 Season (2/14/2020 1:01:36 PM)

Interesting …. Bruce saying "if I would have been given a goalie, things would have been different"
Well
Kinda true
But when you got to choose between two you didn't like … you STILL chose the WRONG one most nights, pal.
