Chiefs Hardman is extremely fast. He took that screen for about 30 yards when it looked like nothing was there.

Meanwhile we're throwing screens to perhaps the slowest guy in the league.

That's a bs statement. Our screen game is as good as it's ever been and your singling out one screen to Rudy to characterize our screen game.

It's a fair juxtaposition if for nothing more than dramatic effect. It made me laugh, anyway.

Fair - no. Comedic - yes.

We are throwing screens to our fastest players also.

Sometimes they just give you 7-8 yards to slow players too....so you take it.

It's kind of like the fat kid/ last kid picked for a sandlot game, Rudy gets more room to operate because the defense doesn't need to worry about him between the 20s. Diggs seemed to get blown up when used on screens in the past as he's such a threat the defense is all over him immediately. As others have stated, Percy Harvin's career was likely shortened from being overused on bubble screens/0-yard passes to overcome Ponder's deficiencies.

Cousins used to look really awkward and unsure of himself on screens and his passer rating on the shortest passes was lower than league average the last time I looked (2018?). Now he seems to use much better touch and timing on screens, which helps them develop better. He's been performing at an amazing level recently and I hope he can continue this improvement. I heard he's performing at a better level this year statistically than Erin against common opponents.

Nice stat!!

I know this is the wrong thread, but I like checking our upcoming opponents sb nation site.

https://www.arrowheadpride.com/2019/10/28/20936352/chiefs-andy-reid-explains-why-he-chose-to-punt-in-fourth-quarter-against-pack

Reading the comments, I found it a fascinating discussion. What had the better odds, picking up a 4th and 3 (if you had decided you were going for it - it should have started with the 3rd down play call) OR punting, with 5:30 left and three time outs vs Aaron Rodgers.

KC does not have a good run defense, much better pass defense.

Then thinking through it if the Vikings are in the same situation.

I did turn off the game after they punted, I figured KC was going to lose at that point.

Currently, Minnesota has the fifth-best odds in the league to win this season’s Super Bowl according to the Action Network. With their current odds, the Vikings are believed to have a 7.63 percent chance of ending up with their franchise’s first-ever Super Bowl victory this year.

Only the New England Patriots (29.41 percent), New Orleans Saints (22.22), San Francisco 49ers (15.55), and Packers (14.64) have a higher chance to win the Super Bowl after the first eight weeks of the season. The Dallas Cowboys and Philadelphia Eagles also have the same Super Bowl odds as Minnesota right now.

Good analysis. I think IRV is being set up for a very productive second half

35 catches for 420 yards and 3 TD is my call.

Redskins reportedly now open to dealing Trent Williams, offer already on the table

The Washington Redskins are now open to trading star left tackle Trent Williams, according to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network. They've already started looking at potential trade partners for a Williams deal and Rapoport notes that the Cleveland Browns are one of those clubs.

Following Rapoport citing Washington's change of position on Williams, Tom Pelissero of the NFL Network reported that the Redskins have told teams that they have a second-round pick offer on the table. Given that, it appears like they are holding out for a first-round draft pick in exchange for the decorated offensive lineman.

https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/trent-williams-trade-rumors-six-likely-deadline-destinations-for-the-all-pro-offensive-tackle/

Minnesota Vikings

The Vikings needed to make their offensive line a priority in the offseason and they did draft center Garrett Bradbury in the first round. However, Riley Reiff has not solidified the left tackle position. Minnesota could actually include Reiff in the deal which would lessen the blow of Williams' loss. Minnesota's run game has been dominant this season and the addition of an elite left tackle would only strengthen that cause in addition to providing protection for Kirk Cousins, who dispelled notions that he struggles against good teams this past weekend.

It should be an interesting day trade-wise, but haven't heard anything new yet. Williams would be a nice pickup, but they probably want too much. Some jackwagon was guessing Devonte Parker could be sent to the Vikings as a part of Miami's fire sale (would have made more sense if Teddy was still here), but I doubt it due to the emergence of Bisi and Josh Dachshund is returning this week too.

Williams is an upgrade over Reiff, but not even to warrant a high cost, imo. There's also the impact on the cap - would Washington even want Reiff?

Williams is probably not in game shape either, there's also the chemistry of the line to consider - which has been improving week to week. How much would it disrupt it to change it now?

At the beginning of the season - if there was a way to include Reiff - I would have been for it. Now not so much.

Hunter is such an amazingly talented, hardworking, humble and extremely intelligent player (how many dumb penalties have you seen him get?). I'm so glad he's on the Vikings, can you imagine what his 3rd contract will be worth if he continues at this pace or better?

Terrell Suggs was going to be a bust and was given the moniker of "Terrell Mauer" and "Sluggs" (or similar) according to one of our our most prolific absentee trolls.

I have a feeling the rookie Bosa is going to make some noise on this list.

The impressive thing about Hunters record, is how he played limited snaps rookie year, rotational in second year, and didn't become a full time starter until the third year (if I am remembering that correctly).

Nice stat!!

It is PFFs stats, but fun to look at. Might also need to compare how many are home and away for each.
Here's where I got it.

Here's some of the #s they brought up in the comparison:
KFC: 93.3 QBR
Erin: 85.5 QBR

KFC: 61% of passing yards are through the air (non-YAC)
Erin: 52% of passing yards are through the air (non-YAC)
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Here's another comparison

Mahomes 2018 MVP through 8 weeks: 65.6 comp. % 8.9 yds. per att. 115.3 QBR 4.33-1 TD-Int. ratio (had 2x the TDs but with many more attempts (70?)

KFC's mercurial 2019 through 8 weeks: 72.1 comp. % 9.3 yds. per att. 115.2 QBR 4.33-1 TD-Int. ratio

We absolutely should NOT be interested.

A 27 year-old RB having a down year with a ~15M cap hit for the next 3 seasons is the last thing we need.
