Regarding the Vikings attempting a pitch to Dalvin Cook late in the game:

Why would you EVER pitch the ball outside on a run play on your fifteen yard line? Hand the damn ball off and get your two yards. That reminded me of the infamous Giants/Eagles in 1978 with Joe Pisarcik muffing a hand off with thirty seconds to go and the Eagles out of time outs. Shortly after that, teams started the victory kneel down with under two minutes to go in the game. Personally, I would like the NFL to eliminate the kneel down and require teams to at least try to make positive yardage on a play or the clock automatically stops. In fact, I think the clock should stop if the defense causes the opposing offense negative yards on a play with under two minutes to go. Kneeling down is like deliberately striking out in baseball. It makes no sense. Rather than kneel down, just let the clock run out if the opposing team is out of timeouts. No team has EVER fumbled a kneel down play to my knowledge and they probably never will.

It's nothing like that. On a positive note your logic skills are right up there with your ally in this "campaign".

BigO You are correct that the logic was bad so you and I agree. Why would you want to be such a jerk to make the insinuation that you did?
However, the idea is great. If you get all excited to watch victory formation and the kneel down good for you I guess. I don't really think many fans find that to be an exciting play so as a fan in a non-partisan fashion I would love taking the kneel down away from the team in the lead.

The excitement is the part of the game that is exciting, up until the point where the outcome is no longer in doubt. I don't understand the need to artificially inject excitement into a game that has already been decided. From what I've seen at the games, 90% of the fan base already can't get up for the current level of excitement.

Not artificial at all. Just a rule to take away the most boring/non-play in the game. The clock used to stop on every out of bounds play. They changed it to just the last 5 minutes.

Well at least we're not the Browns. Wowzers.

In the Denver Post today, an article about how Broncos could have been the Vikings if they had been able to sign Cousins vs Keenum. Denver having an Elite defense, suspect line, good RBs and skilled WRs (at the time of signing).

For all the angst in Vikings land, it's been nice to have a relevant team the last few years.

There's a culture within that building that allows that to happen. The league is going to drop the hammer on Garret. The owner needs to fire the whole bunch.

John Elway sucks as a GM. I recall hearing some NFL guys on the radio talk about all his failed drafts, not just at the QB level.

Buck and Acheman praised Baker Mayfield for his honesty condemning his teammate in his post game interview, I was wondering how much of that "honesty" was more of a tactic for defusing retribution in their next meeting.

The Browns were cheap shotting all game long. On one play Mason Rudolph was helmet 2 helmeted after a pass, this was flagged, on the other end of the pass the receiver was helmet 2 helmeted by 2 defenders, it was about 5 minutes before they walked him all wobbly off the field.

Adam Schefter@AdamSchefter
After last night, Browns now have been penalized 87 times this season, their most through 10 games since 1978. They’ve also racked up four ejections this season, the most in the NFL, including three on Thursday and Greg Robinson in Week 1 for kicking a Titans player.

The #Vikings have activated WR Josh Doctson off Injured Reserve, more WR depth with Adam Thielen still ailing.

Sean Borman@SeanBormanNFL
#Vikings WR depth for Sunday:

• Stefon Diggs
• Bisi Johnson
• Laquon Treadwell
• Josh Doctson

Adam Thielen (hamstring) was ruled out

#Vikings officially activate WR Josh Doctson off injured reserve. They had a roster spot waiting for him.

Something to look forward to seeing his debut. I'm not expecting too much, but of course I would love to be surprised.

Vikings PR@VikingsPR
Total quarterback pressures through Week 10, according to @PFF

1. @DHunt94_TX - 64
2. Za'Darius Smith - 57
3. Everson Griffen - 56
4. J.J. Watt - 52
5t. Joey Bosa - 48
5t. Von Miller - 48

Thought I heard them say Clowney had over 70 pressures but only a few sacks during the Monday night broadcast.

Actually I should know better than to take their word for anything.

They made Wilson out as the Cape Crusader.

Joe Tessatore absolutely murders games. On the other hand, I think Cris Collinsworth may be the best of all time.

Really?
Really?
Collinsworth ruins it for me

Loves to talk.
I hate him.

Oh yeah?...well, the Wildcats are going to kick feathered Duck butt tomorrow. (I'm contractually obligated to say that as a homeboy /alum. But we are going to blow your doors in bball this year.)

Is Shades officially out on Sunday? I don't think he will be needed, but a hamstring injury is tricky.

i have no problem with kaepernick, but a lot of people do - and that's the nfl's problem with it....

when i was a teenager i refused to stand for the anthem in protest of the vietnam war....

Bruce Johnson -> RE: General Vikes Talk (11/16/2019 7:10:47 AM)

I'm grateful that the Vikings sent no representatives to Kaepernick's workout. It's another reason to love my team right now. That's all I'll say.

Big game for the Gophers. I have a bad feeling about it, but if they prevail I will tip my hat off to the coaching staff. It would be natural to have a let down today after what happened last Saturday, but great coaches can prepare the team for each big game. We shall see what happens.
