Wilson is much better in the passing game, but Gedeon is much more instinctive, better tackler and better against the run. He's not flashy, I'll give you that, but the guy is solid doing what he is asked to do for this defense and doesn't get the credit he deserves in this thread for sure.. Im not worried about him not playing because I think we will need to focus more on their passing game, Wilsons strength. Kline is a bummer because after watching the tape, he played well last week and has been steady when available. Our interior Oline is in for a day of it, that's for sure. We have to be able to run off tackle this Sunday and hope to get the short to intermediate passing game going, this will be a solid test for Cousins, one I am not so sure he will pass. I'd love for him to start making me have some confidence in his ability to play against the better teams.

I don't recall Kline getting hurt last week. That is a blow to our interior blocking. Dozier needs to step up. Key to this game will be to get Cousins going early getting rid of the ball quickly. I'm afraid Zim will try to establish the run and get us in some 3rd and long early. If Cousins gets knocked around early he may well be useless the rest of the game.

Kirk Cousins has one of the largest disparities between his standard QB rating (which is 100, somewhat surprisingly to me) and his QBR, the ESPN advanced metric (Kirk's is 36.3, with 50 representing average). Does this suggest he has done well in garbage time, e.g., 4th quarter against Chicago? Or is it a reflection of his fumbles (not accounted for in the standard rating)? The other QB that stands out similarly is Marcus Mariota, with a 103 standard rating and 36.7 QBR. Mariota has been sacked 22 times, which is hard to imagine (Kirk has been sacked 11 times). Lamar Jackson (selected two spots after Mike Hughes in last year's draft) is having a good year, both passing and rushing (e.g., 18 first downs rushing). At 10 runs per game, I wonder how well he'll hold up physically.

Gedeon is replacement level. Instinctive? He had zero TFL last year even though he played 30% of the snaps. Had to have been the only player on defense with significant snaps that did register a TFL.

He was all over the field making 11 tackles when Barr couldn't go a couple weeks ago. Might be draft status as to why gedeon is ahead of him on the depth chart. But even if Gedeon were healthy I think Wilson would get the nod to replace either Barr or kendricks.

That's because nobody ran against us. We were 5th in the league in opponents passer rating (lower than the team that was the best pass defense in the NFL according to you, based on the mostly meaningless total yards), gave up only 15 TDs (4th in the NFL), had 21 INTs (5th in the NFL), and 12th in the league in average yards per attempt against.

I was driving southbound on 35-W yesterday afternoon. With police escort thee were about 5 Lorenz newer buses heading northbound. I assumed that it was the Eagles being transported to their hotel from the airport. I could be wrong, but I wondered who else it could be. That's a lot of buses, though. They have equipment and equipment managers and staff on that bus. There are a lot coaches and assistant coaches. I imagine that there are about 63 players. Perhaps one bus was for the media following the team. Still, that's a lot of buses.

I don't think WIKI is in the habit of printing lies. You are right that we were a decent pass defense stat wise going into the NE game. But after Bellicek showed how to beat our defense the league followed suit the balance of the season by not even trying to run on us and just throwing. We finished 6-10

I was thinking the same thing and hope we sit Rudy and add an extra offensive lineman to help our blocking so KFC doesn't get skittish early and also to help the running game. The eagles secondary is weak right now and the key is getting some time to throw.
