Not sure why you have ??? I haven't said anything to disagree with the numbers you're posting. Unless he picks up the pace quite substantially, I don't see any way they keep Rudolph around after this year unless he agrees to re-structure at the level of a vet minimum contract. We have plenty of cheap alternatives.

Its almost impossible to justify Rudolph’s contract. The fans for every team get fed up with under-performing over-paid players that somehow get extended contracts and linger WELL beyond their usefulness. I don’t know if our team has had more of those than the average but its natural to think so (and imperative if you don’t like Spielman). Rudolph is a little different. He’s not a talentless pondersque hack - he has been a top ten performer at his position (although we are all painfully aware of the very limited short-area production of that contribution). That solid production is long gone and there might not be a slower starter in the league at a skill position - but his size, catch radius, hands, body positioning, and veteran savvy to work short-area space make him a very useful option in our short yardage and red zone offense. Even now. IMO these attributes (along with not having another big bodied option on the roster) probably weighed more on the contract than the leadership / community persona that some in here have espoused. [I doubt Spielman or Zimmer have any illusions about the pressure to win now] I think Rudolph gets a bum wrap for his blocking. Mostly because it took him so long to get from embarrassing to adequate, and you would expect someone with that size to be much better. His stats this year are meaningless, he has obviously been asked to stay in and contribute more to the run than ever before. Zimmer has complemented him on it publicly. Important to me, in interviews Rudolph has openly accepted the new role and embraced it with some pride - rather than grouse about the change in scheme like Diggs. I’m no Rudolph apologist - I can’t wait for Smith to get up to speed. I’m no Rudolph hater either.

#Vikings running back Dalvin Cook is on pace to finish this season with 640 yards receiving. That would be the most receiving yards by a Vikings running back since Moe Williams had 644 in 2003. (Chris Tomasson on Twitter)
