Yep it could in all probability be the right time to move on from Everson with Odenigbo apparently coming on, and the sustained greatness of Hunter, but man I remember the years of drafting DE after DE (Derrick Alexander, Michael Boireau, Erasmus James to name a few) and struck out every time.

Tough to move on from such a productive guy, but I get it.

Doug Martin had a fairly productive career.

Yeah guys, my point exactly.

Damn we had to give up a haul for Jared Allen just to make sure we got a pass rush...

And I was good with it after drafting all those schlepps.

He was worth it until the latter part of his career. At the time of his signing, I think the biggest issue was his drinking/DUIs. But I believe he cleaned that up.

Yes he did. I think my opinion was clouded by the era, where we had been spoiled with the purple people eaters. I may have been thinking of Duck White, though he was inside on the D line.

I don't know enough to have an opinion.

More free agent options. I don't know if we have money.

Great to see you filling up the threads Bruce!

I just can see any signings until the cap situation is resolved. Saw an article that the SEA and BAL are interested in Antonio Brown. I'm not opposed to a 1 yr prove it deal with AB. I really thought Martavis Bryant should have been pursued last year. He didn't play in 2019, so I'd be less interested.

I question his 40 time at 4.42. He seemed way faster than that at Pitt.

I think he will/should get another chance but it would depend on if he has cleaned up his act or not.

i don't think teams are allowed to meet w/FA's face to face or not at the present moment?

Bryant was suspended last season. Missed failed multiple drug tests.

Think AB is like 33 years old now and has been out of football a year plus. Couple that with his mental health problems I'm not sure I'd be interested in bringing him into a locker room.

Bruce Johnson -> RE: Free Agency 2020 (6/24/2020 11:50:08 AM)

The signing bonus could be small and then he would have to prove he still has it. Still, I keep thinking lately that football is a young man's game. Do we have a vertical threat? Perhaps Jefferson. Not sure. If he brings something that we need then I could still see it.

Do you see Jefferson catching some balls downfield like Diggs. I was reading that he's not Diggs. Different receivers.

Bruce Johnson -> RE: Free Agency 2020 (6/24/2020 5:46:50 PM)

Thielen caught a long ball vs the Saints in the playoffs last January. We lost Diggs so it makes sense that there will be less downfield passing.
