ORIGINAL: Bill Johanesen The article says Vikes fans won't be happy with no OL, but I see this as a 'realistic' draft with subbing out the edge rusher in the third with OL. https://www.si.com/nfl/vikings/news/vikings-sports-illustrated-five-round-mock-draft I agree in that I like the draft as well as any, but also in that it may well be that the Vikings feel better about where they are with OL than the fans/analysts do. There is also a need at safety, either for depth or, if Harris goes, for a starter and depth. As far as I can tell, there are no safeties on the roster other than Smith and Harris. The actual draft may shock/horrify fans. I think your comment is spot on. Given the weird conditions this year, I think its going to be a wild ride with teams differing more widely from the pundits than usual. The more fans obsess over media rankings, the more they'll be disappointed. Prospects with medical concerns like WR Ay-ay-ay-yuck are going to really drop as well. Not much of a medical concern the way I understand it. The recovery time is supposed to be short and the prognosis excellent. If he drops to 58 I would snap him up in a heartbeat. If you have 4-5 guys ranked similarly and one guy had recent core muscle surgery that requires a 4-8 week normal recovery time ... and your medical staff can't check him out before the draft ... its a legitimate concern. I don't think it's a red flag (he gets dinged several rounds) but in a very, very deep class he may very well last to 58. (Fortunately for him, one of the others dudes [Shenault] in the same 2nd tier WR clump had the same surgery in Feb.). That is exactly what I'm hoping for. I don't think he would last to 58 without the surgery.
